Even in the Reiwa Era, the Punishment Game is Still "Writing with Your Butt" ∑(゚Д゚)
Thank you as always. This is nyarin😊
This is sudden, but do you all have memories of recreation time in elementary school? Is it officially called recreation?🤔 lol
When I was in elementary school, we used to play "Fruit Basket," "Tail Tag," "Musical Chairs," and "Pass the Bomb" at the end of the term🏫😉
My daughter is in the third grade now, and she told me the day before the closing ceremony that they were going to play "Anything Basket" and "Pass the Bomb" for recreation.
Do you know "Anything Basket"?
In Fruit Basket, you are assigned a fruit like apple🍎, orange🍊, or strawberry🍓, and when the person in the middle says "Apple!", everyone assigned to apple🍎 has to stand up and rush to a different seat. Then, the person who couldn't find a seat becomes the next person in the middle.
In contrast, "Anything Basket" feels more like a question format, I guess🤔
It's where the person in the middle asks something like, "People who ate bread for breakfast today!" or "People who have pets!", and those who fit the description have to stand up and rush to a different seat.
I liked Anything Basket more than Fruit Basket! ( ´∀`) lol
The introduction got long, but here is the main point!
"Punishment games for elementary school recreation"
I was talking to my daughter, saying, "Oh, that's nice. Anything Basket brings back memories," and I suddenly remembered something.
"Oh, when Mom was in school, the punishment game was 'writing with your butt'."
"What! Writing with your butt? What's that?"
"You write letters with your butt. You turn around and write your name while wiggling your butt."
My daughter said, 'No way! I absolutely don't want to do that!'
'Well, times have changed since I was your age, so I'm sure you won't have to! With all the talk about sexual harassment and moral harassment, there's no way they'd do 'writing with your butt' in the Reiwa era.'
That's what we were talking about, but...
Believe it or not!!
The punishment game in the Reiwa era was also 'writing with your butt'!!! 😂
This unexpected statement came from my daughter when she got home from school after a recreational activity!
'Mom! The punishment game for the activity was writing with our butts!!'
∑(゚Д゚) What?
'No way! We were just talking about how that couldn't possibly happen, and it was actually writing with your butt?'
'Yeah, the teacher suddenly said if you became 'it' three times, you had to write with your butt. My friends and I said we absolutely didn't want to do that, so we tried our best not to become 'it'.
She said. Unbelievable. The Reiwa era punishment game is still the 'writing with your butt' incident ∑(゚Д゚)
According to my daughter, there were a few funny boys who intentionally kept becoming 'it' and did the 'writing with your butt' multiple times, but generally, none of the girls wanted to do it, and fortunately, it seems no girls actually had to.
Third grade, girls. Hmm, it might depend on the person, but at that age they start to mature, so they wouldn't want to do 'butt writing,' right? Of course, there are boys who wouldn't want to do it either.
My daughter doesn't, and none of her friends who come over to play are the type of kids who would happily do that kind of 'butt writing.' If I imagined them being forced to do it, I'd be sad 😭 I don't think I could watch it...
What should be done about punishment games?
Hmm, but punishment games are 'unpleasant things,' which is why they are punishments, right? 🤔
Especially in this day and age where sexual harassment, power harassment, and bullying are such big issues.
Are punishment games necessary? Are they necessary because you lost a game? It's difficult 😭
A lighthearted punishment game
By the way, at the school my daughter was at before she transferred, they had recreational activities, and there were punishment games then too, which were 'one-shot gags'.
But for these one-shot gags, anything was fine, and it seems the style was to show off something you were good at 😉👍
So it seems my daughter did a punishment game where she drew a picture she was good at on the blackboard. From there, people were like, 'You're good at drawing! That's amazing!' It wasn't a punishment game at all 🤣 lol
And in the end, it seems it turned into a session where the main point was showing off a special skill under the name of a punishment game, with people asking, 'Who wants to do a one-shot gag?' ( ´∀`)👍
That's a lighthearted punishment game, isn't it? Lol
I'm not a 'monster parent,' so I don't have any complaints about the current school, and I'm not planning on filing a complaint either. Lol
I like the homeroom teacher, and they treat us well 👍
I was just simply surprised.
I can't believe 'writing with your butt' is still a thing ∑(゚Д゚).
When I told my husband, he said, 'Since I'm a guy, I might just go along with it, but I can see why XX (our daughter) would hate it.'
Opinions might differ depending on generation or gender, but I wonder about it.
If I were to return to a job working with children now, and the kids themselves suggested, 'Let's make the penalty game writing with our butts,' and everyone seemed okay with it, I might do it, but I don't think I would ever suggest or force it myself 🤔
I just wrote this because I was wondering what people think. The 'writing with your butt' penalty game issue 🙈
What do you all think?
Thank you for reading 😊
✳︎I used the butt-shaking image for the top of the post 🥰 It's cute and fits the content perfectly! Lol. Thank you!
