Not being good at writing or lacking confidence to continue is not a big problem. | Writing Life Project Feedback
In the Writing Life Project, in addition to Morning Pages, participants submit weekend assignments. Sometimes, I find that the very last assignment circles back to the place where the first assignment began.
F-san, who wrote this feedback, is one of those people.
The first theme of the first assignment and the last theme of the final assignment overlapped perfectly, yet the scenery visible was completely different, as if they had completed a full circle on a spiral staircase.
Reading F-san's final assignment taught me that everyone is already living out their theme and mission for this lifetime.
F-san, thank you so very much.
【Why did you decide to participate in the Writing Life Project?】
Because I wanted to know my inner self. Also, because I wanted to challenge the version of myself that loves to write but has never been able to keep writing.
【What left an impression on you during the Writing Life Project?】
When I first started writing, it was just 'unpleasant stuff' I didn't even want to look back on, but as I continued, it became a trigger for noticing my own thoughts and tasks, such as 'Ah, this is what I wanted to do,' 'I was so concerned about that,' or 'Maybe I should try doing it this way.'
【What is the biggest change that occurred after participating in the Writing Life Project?】
I became able to express my thoughts in writing without resistance. Also, I learned to accept myself with a sense of distance instead of cornering myself.
【Who would you recommend the Writing Life Project to?】
People who feel a sense of haziness in their heads or hearts without knowing why. Not being good at writing or lacking confidence to continue is not a big problem.
【Please share your feedback on the Writing Life Project】
As if it were a lie that I started wondering if I could keep writing, I simply 'discharged' everything. Rather than looking back and thinking, 'I'm amazing for being able to continue!', it felt like days of just letting my thoughts flow while looking straight ahead. And by repeating this, my heart, which had been so hazy, became lighter. By writing and engaging in dialogue with myself, I sometimes noticed unexpected solutions, and by actually trying them out even a little and praising myself for my efforts, I think my trust in myself grew. For the many things I used to think, 'I want to talk to someone about this,' I now want to move forward by engaging in dialogue with myself.
【Please share your feedback and a message for the facilitator】
The fact that Sugako-san was there is the reason I could continue; it comes down to that. I lacked confidence and was overly concerned with objective perspectives, so I was truly grateful that you praised my first assignment with such beautiful words. I was moved that you accepted my self-indulgent writing so directly and savored it. After that, I think I started looking forward to the weekly assignments and was able to work on them more and more positively. Thank you for fully acknowledging my inner heart.
