On the proper use of personal websites and social media link aggregation services [Bento.me]
Since Bento discontinued its service on February 13, 2026, the official announcement stated that users should use Linktree's Bento-like features moving forward.
By the way, I have migrated to a Notion site.
Recently, I created a link list using a service called Bento.me.

(I am currently using Notion instead)
I had thought I didn't need a link-list style profile page since I already created a portfolio on my personal website, but I decided to use a social media link aggregation service as well because there was a lot of information that wasn't quite portfolio-worthy but that I still wanted to keep organized somewhere.
I wanted to keep the minor details organized elsewhere to maintain the atmosphere of my personal website.
lit.link and POTOFU, I chose Bento.me because it displays beautifully on both smartphones and PCs, and allows for the free placement of images and text.
I'm not a fan of how small the text looks on lit.link when viewed on a PC, and I found POTOFU difficult to use because you can't upload images without going through another site, so I'm generally happy with Bento.me.

Also, I like the responsiveness when adjusting the size of the link buttons or moving them around; it feels very satisfying.
As the service name implies, it's also great that it uses the currently popular "Bento UI" style.
I used Bento.me to organize the latest information on works I've posted to novel submission sites, my frequently used social media accounts, and links to information I particularly want to highlight, such as awards and my work request article on note.
Since it gets cluttered if you list every service you use, I also included links to pages that group links together, such as "Other Links" and "Support/Cheering."

A point I was particular about was arranging the link buttons with a black and white contrast.
Of course, the link list also includes a link to my personal website.
The link list I created this way is linked in my X (formerly Twitter) profile section, and I've also listed it as "Information" in the menu of my personal website.
I considered putting the URL of my personal website in my X (formerly Twitter) profile section, but I felt that more people would be interested in which other sites I'm active on rather than just my personal website, so I went with the link list instead.
Updating a link list is definitely easier than updating a personal website, so I think social media link aggregation services are convenient for keeping a summary of what you are currently doing.
However, I still feel that a personal website is the best way to list my own works, so I will continue to use both my personal website and the social media link aggregation service in parallel.
