For those who don't feel the effects of modern Qigong. Two secrets to creating change
Hello, this is Fujita from Suuku.
As I mentioned in my previous blog, I went to Nagasaki the other day.
One of the purposes was to visit Nagasaki Bio Park, where you can interact with animals at zero distance.
It was raining heavily that day, so the animals' energy was a bit low, but that was also adorable, and since there were few people, I was able to observe them at my leisure.
I highly recommend it for animal lovers♡
(When you enter a deep trance, animals will come to you☺︎)
Entering June, the number of people taking modern Qigong has increased. I am very grateful for that.
In the midst of this, I have come to realize that there is a certain number of people who feel "no effects at all" from Qigong, or find it "difficult to feel."
Just the other day, someone who was struggling and about to give up, saying, "I've spent hundreds of thousands of yen on various Qigong seminars, but I don't really understand the effects," came to see me.
Modern Qigong seminars are by no means cheap.
Even so, if you can't feel any change, you naturally get impatient, and I understand the feeling of anxiety well.
I was in a similar state, going back and forth, in the beginning too.
However, the first thing I want to tell you is that not feeling the effects of Qigong does not mean youlack a sense for it, nor does it mean that Qigong is a scam.
So, why can't you feel the effects?
And what can you do to break out of that and start creating change?
Today, I will talk about the reasons for this and two secrets to creating change, from the perspective of cognitive science.
■ Characteristics of people who don't feel the effects
There are clear characteristics in people who find it difficult to feel the effects of Qigong.
That is, they "judge everything solely by the physical space (the visible world)."
This means that their perspective has become low (a state of low abstraction).
The foundation of modern Qigong is the cognitive science theory that "everything in this world is information."
We perceive the world in front of us through the "information in our own heads" received through our five senses, such as sight, touch, and smell.
In other words, we live in a mechanism whereinformation (consciousness and brain) comes first, and the physical (reality and body) appears later as a shadow of that information.

Even so, if you only look at the visible reality (physical space) and judge that "nothing has changed," your brain will more strongly re-recognize the "self that has not changed."
This is a state where the brain's status quo maintenance system, homeostasis, is working intensely.

■ You cannot cool your hands and feet while in a warm room
Information in the information space follows the rule of homeostasis synchronization, which states that it 'synchronizes with the one with the stronger sense of reality.'
If you remain deeply immersed in the homeostasis you are accustomed to, which is your 'current situation,' you cannot synchronize with the information of Qigong.
This is very easy to understand if you think about it in terms of physics.
For example, when your body is warm in a room where the heater is blasting, no matter how strongly you consciously think in your head, 'Fingertips, get cold,' or 'Cool down,' they will absolutely not get cold. If you truly want to cool your hands, it is impossible unless you move to a 'new environment,' such as the freezing outside world.
People who feel that Qigong is not working are in the same state as this.
The sense of reality (reality) in their heads is kept in the 'current room' the whole time.
Unless you change the reality of your current situation, the physical space will not change either.
It can be said that this is largely due to the influence of the rote memorization and cramming education that we Japanese have received. Because we have spent many years receiving only 'schooling' designed to create obedient people who follow the values of others, we have become poor at thinking for ourselves or engaging in high-level abstract thinking.
■ Two secrets to creating change
So, how can you shake up your current homeostasis and start receiving the effects of Qigong?
There are two points.
① Enter a deep trance (altered state of consciousness) and enjoy the comfort
First, you must release the tension in your brain and experience a deep trance state where your body is relaxed. By entering a deep trance, your 'R (real world)' will waver, and you will be able to access the information space (the realm of the unconscious and subconscious) directly.
② Take feedback
After performing Qigong techniques, even if you don't feel any changes, you should think that it is 'working.'
This is because by doing so, your cognition will gradually be rewritten.
To put it another way,
don't overlook small changes
It is important not to seek dramatic changes too much, but to pick up on subtle feedback, such as 'my body feels a little warm,' as 'proof that it is working.'
First, please try to be conscious of these two points.
The rest is to set goals for thinking with a high level of abstraction.
For example, suppose you want to be 'popular' through Qigong. That in itself is perfectly fine, but I want you to raise your perspective (level of abstraction) even further from there.
How would the popular version of me be making the people around me happy? What functions would I be using, and what role would I be playing for the sake of society?
Imagine that world one step ahead vividly while in a relaxed, trance state, and try to feel a sense of reality.
It would be best if you could also spend your daily life with that sense of reality.
Even if your current situation is difficult, it is important to spend your time with this 'future sense of reality' on a regular basis.
■ If you find it difficult, borrow the power of others
Having said that, I think there are many people who find it difficult to enter a trance on their own, or whose hearts are disturbed by their current situation of low abstraction.
That is exactly when Qigong becomes useful, but if you find that you "don't really understand the sensation of Qigong either," it is a waste of time to worry about it alone, so please join one of Suuku's courses or sessions.
Let's unlock your potential together🌺
