I am Masamin | "If you could experience a different life for just one week, who would you want to be?" | Happy Writing Marathon #54
Let me be honest.
……It's not just one week.
I have been pretending to be Masami Nagasawa for almost two months now.
Long before this prompt was even released,
there were times when I wasn't "Nozomi," but "Masami."
One day, this thought suddenly came to me.
What if, like in an anime,
"I was reincarnated as..."
happened to me?
And if it were the person I admire so much, Masami Nagasawa……
At 44 years old, I am seriously thinking about something that would be quite embarrassing if anyone heard it.
I can't actually become Masami Nagasawa.
Of course, I am well aware of that.
But,
if I were Masami Nagasawa, I couldn't have bad posture.
With Masami Nagasawa's beauty, I couldn't be moping around and feeling inferior.
That is how I borrow Masami Nagasawa's strength to motivate myself.
If I were to obtain that beauty,
I felt it would be a shame if my inner self remained weak, inferior, and lacking in confidence.
If it were Masami Nagasawa,
she would surely carry herself with dignity and grace.
I have this image of her laughing off any obstacles she hits, saying, "Well, it's fine."
But what about me?
The moment I inhabit this body,
I wouldn't want people to say, "Lately, she's started saying 'What should I do, what should I do' with no confidence."
I cannot let Masami-chan's reputation suffer because of me.
But then, I realized something halfway through.
It hit me.
Born in the Showa era and having lived through the Heisei era, let me say this.
"Wait a minute."
Is that something I can only do if I become Masami Nagasawa?
Acting with dignity.
Living with grace.
I can do those things as "the current me" without needing to be reincarnated!!
My eyes snapped open.
Even so.
I sometimes borrow Masami Nagasawa's strength.
Of course, "the appearance is Nozomin, the brain is Nozomin."
"What would Masami Nagasawa do?"
Just by thinking that way, my back strangely straightens a little.
My nose bridge doesn't change.
But I feel like nasal breathing becomes easier.
I can properly remember what I am capable of even as I am now.
Today, too, I secretly straighten my posture.
At that moment, I am not Nozomin,
I might be Masamin.
I participated in Ken Honda's "Happy Writing Marathon #54."
I ended up unexpectedly revealing something I've been doing naturally for a long time😆
It's very sad that it's coming to an end at 55 sessions.
But I want to face it head-on.
Thank you for letting me participate✨
