I am not a resident of the back alleys, but.
It has been about six years since I started living in the city of note. Along the way, after moving and such, I have established my current home (account), but for those six years, I have always lived on the main street. Personally, I feel like I live quietly in the city of note, at the edge, just a little bit off the main street, where I can look out at the big road where cars zoom by. The house I actually live in right now is just off the main street, and I can see the main street from my balcony. Behind the house, a large river flows. I like this perfect spot surrounded by the main street and the river, and I have almost never gone beyond the main street.
I, who only looked at the main street, did not know of the existence of the back alleys. After I built my house under the name Natsuki Nozomi, I started X under the same name. Then, I began to see people on X using the tag "What are you talking about?" (Nan no hanashi desu ka). Regarding that "What are you talking about?" tag, I was the one feeling, "What are you talking about?" The days of "They're saying 'What are you talking about?' again..." continued, and later I learned that it originated from note.
It didn't take long for me to realize that many of the people I follow on note are the ones who say "What are you talking about?" I noticed the tag on X, but actually, I had seen "What are you talking about?" on note much earlier. However, "What are you talking about?" existed so elegantly and smartly that I read it as a matter of course and it didn't catch my attention. As my fondness for the people I followed grew and the number of people I followed increased, I learned the origin of "What are you talking about?"
So note had back alleys. Surely, deep behind that main street I can see from my balcony, there is a back alley where people who enjoy writing, enjoy wordplay, cherish their daily lives, and say "What are you talking about?" gather.
There is a person named Konishi Kinoko. (I am intentionally omitting the honorific.) I am not a resident of the back alleys, just someone who watches the fun laughter and gentle lights of the back alleys, but when I learned that this person, Konishi Kinoko, was the first person to say "What are you talking about?" and that an activity started by one person has grown this large and is now about to create a very big wave, my heart trembled.
To be in the city of note at this moment, and to be able to watch the back alleys. I feel like I am about to witness a great miracle, and I want to raise my fist toward the back alleys from my balcony, give a big, big round of applause, and shout, "Amazing!!!"
There is a person named Honda Sunou. (I am omitting the honorific because I love her.) She is the person who made me decide to live in the city of note in a house called Natsuki Nozomi. Even though she just finished the Sunou Cup the other day, she started saying something incredible.
"What are you talking about?" is becoming a book. Honda Sunou is publishing a book of "What are you talking about?" (Nan no hanashi desu ka no hon dasu no). That such a thing could happen... was my first impression. Words connect people, people connect people, and finally, they are going to publish a book. I am moved by the connections between these people, as well as by Honda Sunou's ability to take action.
I am looking forward to it. I will buy it when it is published. Definitely. I want to feel the warmth of that book even on Kindle. I am sure it is a difficult task. I cannot do anything, but I am cheering for you. I am waving my hands big from the balcony at the edge of this side of the main street, cheering for you.
