[Poem] I'm Home, Youth

The laughter of that day
still echoes in the school building
The footsteps of someone young
I overlap them with the me who ran to the finish

Inside a box filled with blue
Voices of support pushing me forward
The dull sound of a ball bouncing
That girl on the court next to me

I start to realize as an adult
that it was all a blue spring
Having passed it and being here today
I feel proud and look ahead

The next time I say I'm home
I will return even stronger
Only by overcoming bitter memories
do they change their meaning and reach you

Life continues beyond goodbye
With the sincerity you taught me
As long as I live through today
As long as the life I learn from others continues
