I have various thoughts about the collaborative magazine, so I am stopping recruitment and considering deleting the magazine. Please wait a moment.

Do you think you can keep enjoying note?
It's not being read as much as you thought. There's no reaction.
It's boring. Don't you think so?

That is only natural.

If you could be satisfied just by writing, you wouldn't be worried.
Since you went to the trouble of writing it, you want it to be read.
You also want 'likes'.
If possible, you want someone to react to it.

But that is hard to come by.

That's why it's boring.
It becomes exhausting to continue.
And then you just quit note.

I'm Note, the gibbon who grows note at top speed!

I run this kind of magazine.

As of May 7, 2026, over 1,000 people have started writing on note. Wonderful. So, how many people will continue? How many people will still be writing a year from now?

There are no clear numbers, but my gut feeling is,
it will be halved after one month,
and less than 10% will remain after one year.

It's been like that since the blog era and the Twitter era. note is designed to be quite easy to continue, but even so, only a small fraction of people keep at it.

Recently, I've been thinking that to continue on note,
it's not just about writing,
an opportunity to be readand
going out to discover someone else's article
are necessary.

So, to create that mechanism,
I am starting a collaborative magazine,
#note Enjoy Continuing Team.

First of all, what is a 'collaborative magazine'?

A collaborative magazineisa feature that allows multiple creators to post articles to a single magazine.

note officially explains it as a mechanism that can be used like a collaborative media or a collaborative online salon.

Roughly speaking, it is
a magazine where everyone can add articles.

By adding your article, people other than your followers might discover it.
By having someone else's article flow in, you might also encounter new articles.

That is how this feature can be used.

The theme of this magazine

Write, discover, and continue on note.

Write your own articles.
Discover someone else's articles.
Read them if they catch your interest.
If you like them, leave a 'like' or a comment.
And then, write again.

I want more people to enjoy continuing note with that kind of relaxed vibe.

The official note team lists continuing to enjoy creation and continuing to publish forever as the things they want you to prioritize above all else on note. It's the idea that these are more important than views, money, or followers.

If that's the case, it would be nice to have a place where people who want to enjoy continuing note can find each other in a relaxed way. It would be better to have a place where opportunities for interaction can be born.

That's why I created this collaborative magazine.

Who this is for

This magazine is suitable for people like this.

・People who want to enjoy continuing note
・People who feel a bit lonely because they don't get reactions even after posting
・People who don't want to just post their articles and be done with it alone
・People who want a trigger to discover someone's interesting articles
・People who want to connect loosely through likes and comments
・People who want to continue note with a comfortable distance, rather than intense interaction

Conversely,

“I absolutely want to be read”
“I definitely want to increase my followers”
“I want comments every time”
“I want a place where I can grow just by joining”

If you think that, don't come. That's not what this is about.

This magazine is not a magical place to grow your note.

If such a thing existed, I would have already hoarded it. Or rather, if you want to grow seriously, you need resolve. If you have that resolve, I will teach you.

At the end of the day, this is just a magazine to create small opportunities to enjoy continuing note.

Regarding the disadvantages of collaborative magazines

To be blunt,
Note is originally quite skeptical of collaborative magazines.
To put it without sugarcoating, I'm even an anti.

For the mindset of “I should just join a collaborative magazine to get read,” I think, don't joke around.

Just because you joined a collaborative magazine,
it doesn't mean your work will definitely be read.
There is no guarantee that your likes will increase.
There is no guarantee that your followers will increase.
There is no guarantee that your fans will increase.

In fact, collaborative magazines that have grown too large tend to become places where articles just flow by, becoming places for posting rather than places for reading.

……There are various other dark aspects to this, but since it would only be toxic for casual note users, I think I will write about it someday in a membership for serious note users who have made up their minds.

If there are problems, why is Note trying to do this?

Because there is demand.

Many predecessors have launched collaborative magazines, and although fewer in number, there have been many articles warning about the disadvantages and risks, yet participants never cease.

“Collaborative magazines are meaningless, so you should stop.”

Even if I say that, because there is demand, they won't disappear.

In that case, rather than preaching about the disadvantages to get rid of them,
how can we make a collaborative magazine that is at least a little better?
Wouldn't it be healthier to try that?

It has benefits for me, I can use it as an experiment, and this might be the rumored 'win-win-win' situation.

I will aim for the strongest collaborative magazine I can think of, as envisioned by a collaborative magazine anti-fan.

……'Better' is more accurate than 'strongest,' but please let me call it the 'strongest' because it won't be exciting otherwise.

Idea 1: Use the tag #note Enjoy Continuing Team

The first idea is to use a tag in combination.

When you add your article to the collaborative magazine, normally that would be enough, but please add this tag to the articles you add.

If you only put articles in the magazine, they will flow away as time passes. If the number of participants increases, the timeline will flow in an instant. But if there is a tag, it will be a landmark to find them later.

If the number of posts with this tag increases, it might become easier to find interesting articles from the tag.

Don't rely only on the collaborative magazine. Use tags as well to make them easier to find later.

This is the first idea.

Idea 2: One of your articles + one recommended article

The second idea is the rule for adding articles.

Up to one of your own articles per day.
Up to one article by someone else that you want to recommend to others.

This is also a small experiment.

A collaborative magazine is inevitably a place where
people who want their own articles read tend to gather.

That is not a bad thing.
Everyone wants to be read, and
I want to be read too. I even want tips.

But if that's all it is, it just becomes a place to dump articles.

Therefore, it shouldn't just be a place for people who want to be read, but also
a place where you can discover interesting articles.

That is the Note version of this idea.

Participation Rules

The participation rules are as follows.

・You can add up to 2 articles per day
・Your own articles: up to 1 per day
・Recommended articles by others: up to 1 per day
・Recommended articles are not mandatory
・For the articles you add, please include
#note_fun_to_continue_team ・Articles that are just advertisements are not allowed
・Articles for solicitation purposes are not allowed
・Libelous, slanderous, or aggressive articles are not allowed
・Adding someone else's article for the purpose of exposing or criticizing them is prohibited
・Please do not use this in a way that might make others uncomfortable

Recommended articles are strictly optional.

“This was interesting”
“I want someone to read this person's article”
“This note seems like it could be a trigger to keep having fun”

It is fine to only do it when you feel that way.

It is okay to participate just by adding your own articles.
Only those who have the capacity should look for and share interesting notes.

Even if you participate in this magazine,
there is no guarantee that your work will be read.

There is no guarantee that your likes will increase.
There is no guarantee that your followers will increase.
There is no guarantee that you will receive comments.
There is no guarantee that Note will read every article.
We will not force interaction between participants.

This magazine is not a place that guarantees results.

...Although, due to the way Note works, I could say there is a possibility that some numbers might grow, but since abusing this won't lead to anything good, I will explicitly state that I do not guarantee it.

Post your own articles.
Discover someone else's articles.
Read them if they catch your interest.
Give them a 'like' if you enjoy them.
Leave a comment if you like them even more.

It's that kind of laid-back place.

There are benefits for the organizers, too.

I'll write about that here without hiding anything.

This collaborative magazine has benefits for me as well. I wouldn't do it if there weren't any. I'm not in a financial position to do volunteer work!

There's a calculation that if more people join, more people might get to know about Note, and this project itself serves as an experimental record for Note operations and article material.

I'm not the type to say,
'I'm doing this entirely for the participants, sacrificing myself!'
It's a win-win where it's about 6 to 4 in my favor, right?
I'll just say that.

I don't hear 'win-win' much lately, but is it still being used?
