The launch date for the new Membership feature has been decided! Here are some tips on how you can use it
We are currently developing a new feature called "Membership" that allows anyone to easily create a monthly subscription service. We announced the service launch date at today's Membership Information Session!

With that in mind, the Membership development lead and note directors explained the appeal of Membership at today's information session.

[Appendix] Summary of questions and answers from today's briefing session
At the briefing, the development manager answered questions directly from the participants. Since we received many questions that might be helpful to others, we have transcribed them in a hurry! We will properly summarize them on the help page and elsewhere in the future.
Q. Do exclusive posts count toward continuous posting streaks, just like regular article updates?
A. Yes, they do! We have made it so that you can set up membership-exclusive articles with the same experience as writing regular articles on note.
Q. Can I use Membership on the note app for iOS and Android?
A. You can post to bulletin boards! Please use the web version to open or edit memberships, or to add member-exclusive articles or magazines.
Members can view and post to the bulletin boards of memberships they have joined, and view exclusive articles and magazines.
Q. Regarding the thread creation feature, can I specify which threads can be viewed by each plan?
A. Yes, you can! You can post to the bulletin board by choosing from three visibility ranges: public to everyone, public to the entire membership, or public to specific plans.
Q. For note pro, will the membership page also use a custom domain?
A. Yes, it will!
Q. What are the minimum and maximum price plans?
A. Currently, it is the same as Circles, with a minimum of 100 yen and a maximum of 50,000 yen. While there is a way to set it at the minimum, there are transaction fees involved, so the income would be negligible. Since many creators put their heart into their work, we recommend around 500 yen or 300 yen.
The maximum is set at 50,000 yen for now, but since there may be cases where you want to set a higher price, we may expand this in the future.
Q. How are posts notified to participating members?
A. A notification saying "An article has been updated" will be sent via in-note notifications, email, and app push notifications. When a magazine linked to a membership is updated, you will also receive a notification that "an article has been added to the magazine."
Q. Can I create a free trial plan for a limited period?
A. Regarding creating plans with a set duration, we would love to do it, but... it is not possible at the moment. As a way to do it with current features, for example, you could write "3-month limited" in the title, and then delete or stop publishing the plan after 3 months. Please wait a little longer for it to be added as a feature.
Creating free plans is possible for those using the corporate service note pro. For general users, we are prioritizing the development of paid features first so that everyone can properly earn compensation through their creative work. However, there is of course a possibility that we will develop free plan features in the future!
Q. Can I limit the number of participants?
A. No, you cannot.
You can limit the number of people by setting the membership to private once a certain number of participants is reached, thereby stopping new participants.
Q. Is it possible to create a 1-on-1 plan and communicate with participants via Zoom or similar? Also, is it possible to provide life consultations or counseling within the plan?
A. 1-on-1 communication is possible depending on how you do it. You could issue a Zoom URL and share it within the membership to talk individually.
Regarding counseling, we may restrict things that require qualifications, such as stock investment or financial planning, as a platform. Please feel free to do other types of consultation!
Q. Is Membership only available as a monthly subscription? Are one-time purchase magazines possible?
A. It is only available as a monthly recurring billing system. Membership aims to be a mechanism where members can continuously support your activities. Therefore, we have adopted a recurring billing model. However, since you can link one-time magazines, you can have people support you continuously through membership and guide those who want to read one-time magazines to those magazines.
Q. Is there a mechanism to rank members based on the length of their participation?
A. We would like to do this someday! ...but it is not possible at the time of the service launch. You can see how long participants have been members on the management page. We also plan to display a badge for members that says, "It has been X months since you joined the membership."
In the future, we would like to allow creators to create original badges for their members.
Q. Do people who join a membership also need to create a note account?
A. Ideally, we would like people to be able to join and enjoy it easily without creating an account, but due to the system, they must open an account. Therefore, we would appreciate it if you could announce it early on the social media you usually use when you open your membership.
Q. Is there a feature to prevent copying and pasting of content within the membership?
A. We do not currently offer a feature to prevent copying and pasting. If you find unauthorized reposting, please contact the service provider where the content was reposted directly.
Q. Can I refuse someone from joining my membership?
A. You cannot refuse them before they join, but you can remove members who have joined. You can also allow them to join again after they have been removed.
We want to continue developing features so that you can continue to create comfortably based on how you use the service and your feedback, so please continue to share your opinions with us.
Q. Can I set an age limit for participants?
A. You cannot set age limits by plan. We would appreciate it if you could handle this by stating the age limit in the membership overview section.
Q. Can I launch one membership for one note account?
A. Yes, you can launch one membership for one note account, and within that, you can create up to five plans with different pricing settings.
Q. Is it possible to delete a plan? Also, if I want to add a plan, do I need to go through the review process again?
A. It is possible to delete a plan. When you add a plan with a different price, it will be reviewed each time. We would like to allow price changes for plans if possible, but that is still in the future. You can add or change benefits within a plan at any time.
In any case, to avoid any misunderstandings with your members, we recommend that you announce it in advance via articles or the bulletin board before doing so!
Q. Can the free invitation slots from the Circle feature be used for memberships as well?
A. Yes, those currently using Circles can keep their remaining free invitation slots as they are. Like Circles, memberships allow for up to 10 free invitations.
Q. If there is trolling or similar behavior within the membership, can I deal with it?
A. Membership owners can remove members.
Q. Can the members of the Circle I am currently operating be migrated to the membership as they are?
A. Yes! Circles that are currently open will be automatically migrated to memberships as they are. Please rest assured that your Circle members will also be automatically carried over to the membership.
Q. As a demo, can I make some of the bulletin boards within the membership available to the public?
A. Yes, you can. You can choose from three types of visibility settings for bulletin boards.
1. Public to everyone on the internet
2. Public to all members of the membership
3. Public only to members participating in specific plans
Therefore, if you choose 1 in the bulletin board visibility settings, you can show it to people who are not in the membership.
