To the Days When Numbers Are Good but You Still Feel Unsettled | Making Growth Easier to See Helps You Keep Going

Are you growing, or have you stalled?
Even though you're looking at the numbers,
don't you sometimes find yourself unsure?

Even I, who am pushed forward by AI, feel the same way.
Every time I get an analysis,
"You're growing," or "Things are going well,"

it praises me, but that actually makes me feel anxious.

I'm sure you can relate to this, too.

Lately, I've been obsessed with "growth."

In my previous article, I managed my anxiety by looking for evidence. And this time, I questioned the AI even more (lol).

To begin with, how is "growth" defined?

When I asked myself that question,
I realized that other people's "amazing numbers" had become my standard for growth.

So, in this article,
I'm going to organize what "growth" actually looks like.

It should help ease the anxiety of whether you're growing or not.

Let's try defining growth

Why our sense of it wavers

Why does it waver so much?
The reason was simple.

Feelings (subjective) and numbers (objective) don't align.

That's why,
even when the numbers are good, you lack confidence, wondering, "Is it okay to be happy with just this?"

And when the numbers don't follow,
you start to doubt the confidence you've built up.

You end up lost in both patterns.

Things go well when you look at them from 3 perspectives

It's ideal to perfectly align both the subjective and objective, but
a gap is bound to emerge.
I've realized it's a Herculean task (lol).

So, I tried
"looking at things from 3 perspectives"to bridge my feelings and the numbers.

It's not just about PV.
It's not just about the number of followers.

I've started receiving meaningful comments.

My actions have become lighter.
My hesitation in writing has decreased.

All of these are growth.

But wait a minute.
You probably aren't convinced by this yet, right? (laughs)

I also thought, 'Wait? Isn't all of this growth?'
So, I had a bit more dialogue with the AI,

and I realized that it 'changes depending on the growth phase.'

Definitions that change with growth phases

We look at the definition of growth from three perspectives, but
the points we focus on change depending on the phase.

It was natural to feel confused when comparing myself to people in a transitional period or a different phase.

You, who are reading this article now,
are likely wavering between (1) the initial stage and (2) the first growth stage.
(I also feel like I'm at the entrance of stage 2.)

So, it's not that you aren't growing,
it's just that the 'way you see' growth isn't organized yet.

In my case,

looking at it from the definition of (1),
'Getting used to comments + getting used to posting -> growth'

But,
when it shifts to the definition of (2),
'Not receiving many comments repeatedly -> cannot be called growth'

Even if the AI praised my numbers from the perspective of (1),
because I felt a lack in the area of (2),
that was why I felt uneasy.

From the moment you notice the discrepancy,
your feelings and your sense of the numbers will start to align.

Your impatience will quiet down,

and you will prepare yourself to take on challenges with peace of mind.
