[Video Ver.] Compass for "How to Live" Vol. 7: What to Compare.
Hello everyone! This is paper counselor Yoshiyuki.
First of all!
My previous article and video version, "What is Given When You Let Go," was introduced by Kishakoku-sensei.
Next, the video version of "Working" and the text article "How to Protect Yourself" were introduced by Yu-yu. Also, for the video version of "What is Given When You Let Go," I even received support and recommendations.
Kishakoku-sensei, Yu-yu, thank you for always supporting me! It is very encouraging.
Now, let's get to the main topic.
I have turned the text article I posted previously, Compass for "How to Live" Vol. 7: What to Compare, into a video. As before, the first half is a video version of the text article, but the latter part is new content.
The following is the content of the latter part.
Why do people want to compare themselves with others?
It's because since we were children, our parents and teachers have told us to work as hard as we can.
Even so, there are people who work hard and are more talented than others, and there are people who work hard but don't succeed.
Is it right to evaluate that with a single yardstick?
Isn't it possible that we end up evaluating people by saying things like, "That person is no good because they are below average"?
But even those people might have worked as hard as they could, right?
Why don't we try to look at their efforts instead of just the results?
Also, because there are people below average, thanks to them, there are people who are above average, right?
So, I want you to think about the feelings of the people who are called below average.
If you were to join the people at the 100-meter dash world championships, and the people around you told you, "You're no good because you're slow," how would you feel?
Anyone would feel bad, right?
Haven't you been saying things like that to the people around you?
If you have been saying or thinking that way without realizing it, I want you to think about the feelings of the people who have been told those things.
So, for those who are talented and above average, instead of resting on your laurels above those who are called below average,
What are their strengths?
What kind of hidden talents do they have?
I want you to try and find them together.
If you do that, wouldn't some kind of connection be born between the people who are called capable and those who are not?
If it starts to feel like that, is there really a need to compare yourself with others?
It would be great if more people like that increased around you.
This time, the topic was "What to Compare."
Thank you for staying with me until the end.
I have received some "happy news!" Even though the limit on likes has been relaxed (I think?), thank you so much for all the likes. I am grateful for your support.
