A Grand Misunderstanding and Lunch
A story about how I ruined my lunch by misunderstanding a song title.
Michael Jackson's Heal the World.
I introduced it this morning on #DailyJukebox.
When I first heard the title of this song,
Nice one, Michael.
"Heel the World"
What kind of song is he releasing? 😅
I thought he had written such a provocative song.
I must listen to this with a serious mindset.
In the world of professional wrestling, a 'heel' means a villain.
Apparently, the meaning comes from the heel of a shoe.
Even if it's a villain, it's necessary to make the hero look good.
I was inwardly impressed that Michael would dare to
take on such a role, which in a way
is very courageous.
And then I listened to the song.
Hmm? Where is the villainy? (@v@...
Isn't it refreshing?
And isn't there a sense of melancholy to it as well?
Hmm? Am I misunderstanding something?
It's 'Heel the world', right? Hmm?...
When I looked at the title closely,
I realized I had made aterriblemistake.
It was the wrong 'heel'.
Heal the world.
This is the correct one. 'Heal' means to cure.
The title was 'Heal the World' 🤣
Of course,
there's no way Michael would be a heel (villain) lol
Japanese is complicated.
If it had been the English title from the start,
I would have realized the misunderstanding.
I learned once again about the greatness of Michael's soul.
That's right, it's 'heal', isn't it? A villain, of all things...
And because my thoughts were focused on the villain,
I was so hungry and wanted to eat pork curry,
but since I couldn't fight the lunch battle today,
I shouted this in my heart:
Heal the world
(Everyone in the world, it's time for lunch).
And then, the chorus of this song
could only be heard with this meaning (lol).
And I,
looking at the cafeteria menu I couldn't eat,
realized something once again.
It was a 'pork-less' (pig-less) mistake.
Today's menu was beef curry.
I felt kind of empty (lol).
The lunch battle is on break due to time and physical condition.
Giving my 'stomach', which is always working hard,
a peaceful rest as well 😎
