Are you tied down by commas and periods?

A talk on "tips for writing without fatigue" for those who get tired while writing.

When you write, do you write commas and periods (hereinafter referred to as punctuation) at the same time?

At the very least, when you are writing drafts, brainstorming, or summarizing, writing punctuation just narrows your thinking. Therefore, not writing them is overwhelmingly more efficient in terms of thought.

For example, consider the following short text.

A passage from a certain text👆.

Reading this, you might think it is written properly, but actually, punctuation marks are symbols for the reader. Since the writer is thinking about what to write in their head, punctuation is actually a hindrance.

Removing the punctuation from 👆 results in the following.

Do you understand?😙

When punctuation is gone, from the reader's perspective, it becomes difficult to understand all at once (lol). However, from the writer's perspective,
imagination expands all at once.

For example, the sentence without any punctuation of "At this time, grasp your own state firmly" is

Because punctuation doesn't catch your eye, you have at least two choices for where to place the comma (、), and each can bring out subtle differences or nuances. You can deliberate on the options.

And once you actually add punctuation, it can only be taken to mean what the punctuation dictates. Therefore, once you have added punctuation to check the expression of the text, you should erase the punctuation again.

If you repeat this, it becomes possible to refine while writing.

One more thing.

Regarding punctuation, I have something I have decided to do when writing while refining and brainstorming. Let me tell you that too. It is,

Let's use the previous example of 'at this time, grasp your own state firmly'.

There are still a few more patterns, but when you compare them by using line breaks as shown above, the meaning and how it is conveyed become clearly visible. And only when you discover the one that you feel is 'the one' from this repetition do you finally add punctuation marks. For the sake of the readers who will read it.

With this method, you can revise and ponder while writing without stress, and you can also understand in an objectively clear way how to add punctuation for the sake of the reader.
