Mikuni-cho, Sakai City, is a small port town in Fukui Prefecture where the vast blue sky and sea are beautiful. There, you will find the luxury private villa "Morris Resort", which stands like an overseas resort.
If you have ever visited Tojinbo, you have surely seen it at least once, haven't you?
Three buildings fully opened in April 2024 near a pleasant coastal drive course that connects the tourist attraction Tojinbo and Oshima Island.
Despite prices starting at over 120,000 yen per night, it has been so popular that the occupancy rate exceeded a staggering 80% in August and September. It is said that even on weekdays, it was full of travelers from outside the prefecture!
There is even a rumor that the popular YouTuber "Kazu-san from Fukui" is involved!

Our Sakai City Charm Discovery Caravan visited the site and interviewed the management staff. We got to the heart of the appeal of Morris Resort.
A perfected private villa operated by an exterior company itself
The moment you arrive, a beautiful green garden catches your eye. The site with its elevation changes and orange-tiled stairs immediately invites you into a resort mood.
The person who welcomed us this time was Katsuya Tachibana (25), who is involved in the operation of the YouTube channel "Kazu Channel".
In fact, this resort is jointly operated by three owners, including the popular YouTuber "Kazu-san", who is based in Fukui.
Among those three owners, the one who builds and maintains the buildings themselves and takes the lead in operations is "River Forest," a company that handles exterior projects.
Morris Resort is a beautifully perfected private villa built with pride by a veteran exterior construction company.
As you climb the stairs, drawn by the impressive wooden gate, and look back, a green yard and the sea spread out before you. At night, the grounds are illuminated fantastically, and it is even equipped with a night pool. The lighting and exterior construction technology make guests feel happy.
Looking at the construction examples on the "River Forest" official website, the resort gives the impression of being a villa created with all the passion and exterior construction technology that the craftsmen have cultivated so far. Impressed by the beautiful exterior, we proceeded and finally entered inside.
The owners are a unique group including YouTuber "Kazu-san from Kazu Channel"
"Come on in, please." Led by Mr. Tachibana, we entered the "Neptune Building," located on the northernmost side of the three buildings. The three buildings at the resort had the first one open in 2023, followed by two more, and fully opened this April. It seems Kazu-san purchased the "Neptune Building" as an owner. Mr. Tachibana, whom we interviewed this time, is young but is
a key staff member in charge of attracting customers and public relations for Morris Resort, who never misses the regularly held management meetings. He is involved in operations together with Kazu-san and his wife, Eri-san. We asked Mr. Tachibana, the leading expert in operations, to tell us three charms of the resort

Popularity Secret 1: Fulfilling the wish to stay with your beloved dog! A facility that welcomes dogs!
Choosing accommodation for a trip can be a headache for dog lovers, but the Neptune building is actually dog-friendly, and they now even welcome large dogs as well. In other words, it is a "pet-friendly" accommodation that dog lovers will be happy about.
A luxurious space unique to a private villa, equipped with facilities like an ocean view and a barrel sauna, and being able to spend time with your dog is an irresistible service for dog lovers.

It seems some people even use it for weddings and receptions, and it is loved by a wide range of customers.
There are even people who have stayed there three times by themselves!
"There are people who leave letters, and some who call us a few days later to thank us," said the concierge I met during the interview.
Equipped with a private pool and private sauna, it seems that everyone is fully satisfied with the rental villa where they can leisurely enjoy the scenery.
The reason Kazu-san became a villa owner
"If you're going to come all the way to Fukui, I want you to have the best memories. With that in mind, I wanted to provide accommodation that would satisfy you."
Tachibana-san told me about Kazu-san's thoughts.
What drove Kazu-san was the desire to provide accommodation that would satisfy the fans who were visiting Fukui in increasing numbers due to his own influence.
According to Tachibana-san, Kazu-san himself almost never comes to this villa in Mikuni.
He wants guests to stay there first, use it, and experience the nature and breeze of Mikuni. Even though it's his own villa, he actually spends almost no time there. This episode about Kazu-san felt like it reflected his own personality of thinking about the happiness of those around him.

Finally, I asked Tachibana-san and the concierge about their favorite time of day to spend at the resort.
Every time of day has its own beauty, and both of them were hesitant, but the concierge told me, "The time from evening to night," and Tachibana-san said, "The time when the lit-up night pool is sparkling is beautiful."
