[YouTube Easy Mastery 554] It's not just the FORTNITE commission issue! Is 51% being deducted as fees from YouTube Super Chats!? [Raising the Issue]
Currently, Epic Games, the developer of the game 'FORTNITE', has taken a stance to challenge Apple and Google over commission issues, leading to a legal battle.
It all started when Epic Games violated Apple's terms of service by introducing its own payment system, but this commission issue has spread to music streaming services, and other companies are now appearing to support Epic Games.
Now, while I'm not trying to jump on the bandwagon of this commission issue, there is something I have been wondering about for a long time.
That is the revenue from YouTube Super Chats and Super Stickers.
For the main revenue from YouTube (ads, transactions), users agree that '45% will be deducted by YouTube for fees, etc.' when they join the 'YouTube Partner Program (YPP)'. There is no problem with this.
However, for Super Chats and Super Stickers, it is not the 45% fee based on the YPP agreement; according to the 'Memorandum on Paid Products', it states that 70% is the user's share and 30% is taken by YouTube. Besides that, the memorandum also mentions tax-related matters, but the detailed breakdown of those taxes is not written.
Looking only at this memorandum, it would mean that '30% is deducted by YouTube for fees, etc.' for Super Chats and Super Stickers.
However, in reality, as much as 51% is being deducted as fees, etc.
Previously, a user sent me a 610 yen Super Chat, but the actual amount received as shown in YouTube Analytics was 299 yen. That is less than half, which would be 305 yen.
I receive my earnings on the 22nd of every month, but the Google AdSense payment statement does not list specific figures.
Usually, pay stubs list very detailed figures, but...
If it costs a considerable amount of money to maintain and operate Super Chats and Super Stickers, they should clearly state that, but nothing of the sort is written.
Previously, there was a page on YouTube Help that stated the commission rates for Super Chats and Super Stickers, but it no longer exists. It is no wonder that people suspect there might be an inconvenient truth.
Money issues are also issues of trust.
Is the commission rate for Super Chats and Super Stickers not 30%, but higher? Does the 30% fee plus taxes exceed 50%?
This is not a FORTNITE issue or anything else; it is our issue as YouTubers.
For YouTubers who enjoy posting videos and look forward to receiving some revenue, this is a major problem.
I want them to clarify the commission rates for Super Chats and Super Stickers as soon as possible and include specific figures in the monthly payment statements from Google.
I am raising this issue here.

Thank you for watching.
