♠︎2 Increasing the number of 'I did it' moments

"Teacher,
which side is the front?"

In the slightly cooler nursery room,
the two-year-olds begin changing their clothes.

Child A spreads out his T-shirt,
stretches the neck hole wide, and stares at it intently.

"The side with the wider neck is the front."

Meanwhile, Child B realizes
he put his shirt on backward
and is struggling to fix it.

And Child C
walks over with her T-shirt
and goes into full-on spoiled mode, saying, "Do it for me."

Seeing this, a childcare worker, exhausted,
said,
"You're already two,
do it yourself."

To that, a veteran childcare worker said,
"That's not the right way to talk to them."

But beside her, a new childcare worker, feeling flustered,
thinking there was no time,
decided to do everything for them
and started helping
Child A get dressed.

"Are you going to do it all for him?"

Realizing this, she stopped,
and seeing Child A struggling
to figure out which side had the wider neck,
she said, "You're doing great.
Can I help you a little?" and showed him the right way.

And when he put it on successfully,
she clapped,

"Child A,
"you did it yourself!
How cool!"

Changing time
is not just a time to put on clothes.

With those small hands,
it is a time to increase the number of 'I did it' moments.
