I messed up
About the Moon Viewing Tea Party
At the beginning of this year
When I participated in my master's first tea ceremony of the year for the first time, Mutchan and I took a taxi from the station, but since this was the second time, we decided to take the bus.
On the way back from the first tea ceremony, we took a bus from a nearby bus stop.
I thought about taking a taxi this time too, but since the number of people didn't match up, I decided on the bus.
However, I took the wrong bus.
We walked along the road from a slightly distant bus stop.
It would have been fine if it were just Mutchan and me, but the other three were first-timers, and Ai, the main guest, had misunderstood the time.
Ai's expression suddenly softened when she learned later that I had planned the schedule with plenty of time to spare.
Next, we couldn't seem to reach the hermitage where the tea party was being held.
It was intricate, and whether we went this way or that way, it was the wrong place.
It was as if we were trapped in a maze.
The first-timers were waiting on the road before us.
I gradually remembered the way, thinking 'It's this way...', but no one followed me except for Mutchan.
I had no choice but to go and pick them up.
As we proceeded through the residential area, a mysterious gate suddenly appeared.
We finally arrived.
I was breathing from the bottom of my lungs.
I messed up.
They say failure is the mother of success, but
I didn't feel like I was alive.
When I told my master about it later,
'Oh, that place, no one can ever find their way there, so it's fine.'
Come to think of it... the first time, a senior disciple, a lovely madam with round, sparkling eyes who makes cartonnage, guided us.
It was pitch black on the way home, so we had them call a taxi for us.
I should have just taken a taxi from the start.
