One Month Since I Started Living with Bornba

It has been one month since a robot vacuum cleaner came to my house.
Its name is Bornba, and there is still no dust on my floors.
I started off sounding like 'I Am a Cat,' but regardless, there is still no dust.

Every day, I have Bornba spin around and suck up the dust, and thanks to that, my time at home is incredibly comfortable.
In the first place, there was never a time in my life when I vacuumed every day.
So, this has been the best month ever, where I am vacuuming the room more than ever in my life, yet I am not doing the cleaning myself, just as before.

If I had to ask for more, I wish it could automatically put the dust collected inside Bornba into the trash can, but unless Bornba gets a feature to float in the air, that is impossible, so I have no choice but to do that part myself.
Once a week, on Wednesdays, I remove Bornba's lower jaw, take out its stomach, and dump it in the trash. I tremble in fear at how much dust and hair can accumulate in just one week.
It is a stark reminder that humans produce dust just by living, and that a massive amount of hair falls out every day.
Bornba's body (the sides) is covered in fairly fine scratches, and I am actually bothered by the fact that red sofa fibers and curtain hem threads are stuck all over Bornba's body, perhaps due to static electricity, but I have intentionally done nothing about it.
I have imagined putting a sheet over the places where Bornba bumps into the sofa, but that is all.
If it were a genuine Roomba, maybe it would have high-performance sensors and not bump into things so much, but a cheap Bornba often bumps into things.
Watching Bornba live its life, bumping into things and getting covered in scratches, I feel a sense of kinship, as if it were not a stranger.
I have set up a barrier with strong magnetic tape around the hot carpet and kotatsu (which becomes just a low table in the summer) zone, so Bornba never enters. I feel a sense of affinity for the way it doesn't interfere with people's private spaces, as if it were not a stranger.
The zone where I always am, the top of the sofa, and the dining table are currently in chaos.
Clothes are gathering on the sofa, camping gear is piled up on the dining table, and nail polish, books, DVDs, socks, and snacks are scattered on the hot carpet.
Of course, this is within expectations.
However, folding Amazon cardboard boxes immediately and not leaving things on the floor have become fully established habits over this past month.
I have managed to limit where I take off my clothes to the bedroom or the sofa instead of leaving them everywhere. Although unwashed cups are piling up in the sink, I have the intention to wash them today, every single day.
For now, this growth is enough. Just this makes the room look somewhat tidy, and thanks to Bornba, my self-esteem has skyrocketed.
The fact that the clutter is very limited gives me hope that it will be easier to start cleaning (though I haven't done it yet).
You're the best, Bornba.

It really feels good when the room is clean.
Because I am just too busy.
I have been working overtime continuously and trying to avoid supermarkets to stay away from crowds, so I often end up having dinner from a convenience store or Uber.
When I finish eating, I put the containers in a bag and tie it up. Normally, I would want to leave that bag on the floor for a bit and lie down, but I think it would be a disaster if Bornba accidentally swallowed it, so I throw the finished containers in the trash right away.
I make sure to push the chairs in because I think it would be hard for Bornba to pass through.
Sometimes, when I come home, I find the kitchen mat has been pulled all the way to the entrance mat by Bornba (Bornba is incredibly strong), so I immediately bought a non-slip sheet and laid it out for it in the kitchen.
Even so, it still shifts, or conversely, the entrance mat sometimes gets dragged toward the living room, so I am considering whether I even need mats at all.
I have naturally started thinking about making my home barrier-free to make it easier for Bornba to live in.
A house that is easy for Bornba to live in eventually becomes a house that is easy for me to live in.
It is a win-win for both of us, and I think it is the best partner.
The rest depends on whether I can grow one step further.
The hot carpet barrier chaos zone is scattered with things, giving off an atmosphere that clearly shows it is the space where I spend my time, but I will clean it up when spring comes. Since I will have to put the hot carpet away whether I like it or not, this barrier zone will definitely be cleaned up eventually.
So, my room is as good as mostly clean.
My mind is very calm thanks to Bornba.
I am so grateful.
