A Feast at a Long-Established Restaurant with Friends: News from São Paulo

Hello, this is Noriko Ivory.

Today, I will introduce the city where I live from the table of a long-established restaurant
where you can feel the pleasant breeze of Brazil.

Aiming to enjoy a delicious meal in the heart of São Paulo

Since my dear friends who visit regularly from Japan
were heading back home on an evening flight,

this became the final lunch of their trip.

"Where should we go?"

At times like this,
I get excited
wanting them to eat something delicious
in a space that the locals are proud of.

Delicious,
with a bit of history,
and traditionally featured in the media,
this restaurant

was the one chosen.

Even though it is a long-established place, in São Paulo,
formality is set aside,
and it is a space where joy bursts forth.

"So typically Brazilian"

Doesn't it make you feel relaxed?

Unique to Brazil: The concept is "to just enjoy yourself"

The service on the floor that makes guests feel at home

is amazing at creating
the utmost friendliness and comfort!

And, of course, the chef's skills are nothing short of impressive.
You'll find yourself saying, "I'm so glad we chose this place."

The restaurant is right in the heart of São Paulo.

The name is Bar da Dona Onça
I suppose it means something like "Auntie Jaguar's Diner."

As far as the eye can see, the restaurant's theme is leopard print.
It's that same pattern that's so closely associated with middle-aged ladies in Japan, too.

At times like this, with energetic and creative cuisine

"Well, what shall we have?"

We ordered creative dishes that were
packed with Brazilian flavors.

Without any pretense,
we enjoyed the lively atmosphere,

The bill was the highest by an order of magnitude
in the last few years.

All things considered,
it was a satisfying and wonderful time.

There is also a wide array of alcoholic drinks lined up.

Creative cocktails are also popular, so
next time I plan to aim for dinner time
and go check it out.
