Announcement for the 20th tomo College
Until now, I have only made announcements on Instagram
and posted activity reports on note.
Since last year, I have tried holding hybrid events that allow for both online and in-person participation several times and enjoyed it, so in 2026, I decided to announce the events on note as well
and start with a hybrid format.
What is tomo College?
Most of you are probably wondering that,
so please feel free to check out the article from the first session.
I introduce this content at the start of every session.
Theme of the 20th session
For Zoom participation, I think I will make it okay to keep your camera off.
It is a small, intimate time with about 4 people each time,
but it is no exaggeration to say that it is the source of my library activities,
a precious time where I get to recharge with warm energy.
In 2025, I introduced back issues of Fukuinkan Shoten's monthly subscription picture books from the mini-mini library on the hill on note, month by month.
This time, I would like to discuss world folktales while focusing on this picture book, which I introduced as the January picture book.
And,
I recently read this article on note
and realized something very wonderful.
In the exchange of comments with
Momoko Hachimitsu,
Information technology, including AI, is developing rapidly, and no matter what I do, I am quickly left behind. But precisely because of that, I believe that the experiences of picture books and analog spaces—which might be a bit troublesome—add depth to human beings and will truly help us in a real sense. ☺️
The phrase "human depth"
struck a chord in my heart,
and I became convinced that this theme
would surely be meaningful!
tomo College may not bring about
high-achieving results like
having a clear purpose,
being able to do something,
or understanding something
just because you participated...
Even so, I have kept doing it because I wanted to.
Why do I feel like holding the 20th session?
It is because every time,
I have this feeling inside me that I cannot put into words,
like 'Huh? What is this? What is this feeling?'
Of course, it is entirely up to you
how you feel about participating.
