I want to start a business but have nothing I want to do! 5 steps that helped me attract my 'dream job' (Part 5)

Hello,
I'm Maki Kazai.

Even I, who had nothing I wanted to do, have now entered my fourth month of running a business!

I will write about the 5 steps I have taken over these three months!

You can find the previous steps via these links:

Prologue
Step 1: Start by 'putting yourself out there'!!
Step 2: Put 'what you want to do' aside for a moment and try finding 'what you can do'
Step 3: Meeting clients and experiencing the joy of helping them comes first!
Step 4: Put your thoughts into words and shift into high gear with your outreach!!

By reading this article,

■ You will understand what you can discover by continuing to take action, as the 5th step to take in the early stages of starting a business.

Step 5: Even if you are confused or unsure, just keep going!!

1. There are, of course, times when you feel like you're going back to the feeling of 'I want to find what I really want to do'!!

In the mere four months since I started my monitor activities,

Is this not the right thing for me?
Is this really it?
Maybe I can't do this anymore...
Is this even fun?

I have had thoughts like these, haha.

There are times when I feel like I'm going back to the feeling of 'I want to find what I really want to do'.

However,
what makes me different from my former self is

the fact that I have taken action, the feedback from my clients, and
the feelings I have captured by putting them into words.

Even in just four months, that changes my own decision-making completely.

2. What I realized while continuing to take action

In my case, 'what I could do' was document creation and my experience as a career consultant.

By combining those,
now 'Turning your thoughts into a story'is a project where I have been conducting monitor activities to draw out strengths, charm, and sensibilities through sessions, and then presenting them as a story.

Let me introduce the evolution of this project and the evolution of my feelings.

At the very beginning, this project had the concept of 'Turning your thoughts into documents'.

At this point, there was no element of 'passion',
I took advice from my mentor,
multiplied what I could do,
and honestly did what I was told to try.

To be honest, the thought of 'Is this it...?' was not zero, haha.

Even so, as I continued to work and receive feedback from clients, I started to notice something.

"I was so moved by your writing that I cried!" "You put into words exactly what I wanted to convey."
I was receiving feedback like this.

This was an unexpected reaction for me.

I wasn't trying to move anyone; I was simply expressing the person in front of me.

And through that, I began to realize something.

I realized that "expressing," "turning things into stories," and "writing" were things I could do naturally, and that I loved them!

And so, now I have arrived at the concept of "I will turn your charm into a story" and am putting it into practice!

3. Even if you're unsure and lack confidence at first, just give it a try!

In this way, I also started from a place of being truly uncertain, wondering if this was really it.

As I kept going despite my confusion, before I knew it, I was able to discover what I loved.

Conversely, I was also able to realize what I was not good at.

By actually trying things, I was able to discover these elements.

For someone like me who had no idea what I liked or what I wanted to do, encountering this "passion" meant a lot.

Since then, I have been able to actively enjoy the act of "writing."

Just as I have always done with document creation, writing meeting minutes, writing announcements, and writing posts to share the success of my colleagues,
even including the small tasks, "writing" is fun.

Even though it is the same "writing,"
it is definitely more fun when I am doing it because I realize I "love" it, compared to when I was feeling like "I don't know what I want to do."

It has only been four months, but I feel like I can now give myself permission to do what I want, with my "passion" as the axis!

Thank you for reading through steps 1 to 5.

Next time, I'll write about something interesting I noticed—it turns out my "passions" were connected?!
