Beauty for Me | What is Important for Beauty?

Hello,
I am Katie, a trader and financial education advisor.

I used to spend my days caught up in work and raising my child while feeling anxious about life,
but after realizing that "financial knowledge is the power to live," I started learning and taking action,
and now I have achieved a lifestyle where I work while traveling, unbound by time or money.

Currently, aiming for a society where "everyone can choose a life that is uniquely their own and exciting,"
I support people in achieving their ideal life design through financial education.✈️

And now, I am taking on the challenge of Beauty Japan 2025.
Today, I would like to write about what Beauty means to me.

Not just appearance, but the state of one's heart

I used to think that "beauty equals appearance."
Skincare, makeup, hair, fashion...
I believed that grooming the outside was "becoming beautiful."

But I realized it when I experienced the lowest point in my life:
true beauty is born from peace of mind, compassion, and the "attitude of cherishing oneself."

No matter how much you polish your appearance,
what if your heart is tired? What if you are sleep-deprived?
A shadow will appear somewhere.

Conversely, when your heart is fulfilled,
you naturally radiate brilliance in every moment.

Since realizing that, my concept of "beauty" has changed 180 degrees.

Beauty begins with cherishing yourself.

Since becoming a single mother,
I lived prioritizing "someone other than myself"—for my son, for work, for others...

Before I knew it, I had no time to care for myself and no time to even look in the mirror.

But one day, my son suddenly said to me,
"I like it when Mommy is smiling."

That remark struck me.
If I am not smiling, my son's smile will also cloud over.
If I am irritable, my son's heart will not be at peace.
That is why I realized that cherishing myself is the same as cherishing my family.

Tending to my heart, tending to my body, and tending to my daily life—
that is the foundation of beauty for me.

People who can cherish those around them are beautiful.

By taking on the challenge of Beauty Japan,
I have relearned "inner beauty" and "compassion for others."

Beauty means not denying anyone.
It means acknowledging the good in others and being able to support them.
The more at ease people are with themselves, the kinder they can be to those around them.

I believe that is "true beauty."

Toward a beauty that has "space" both financially and in the heart.

The reason I am involved in activities that teach financial education is also because
I want to increase the number of people who live beautifully and authentically.

When you are bound by money,
you lose space in your time and heart, making it difficult to be kind to others.

Conversely, when you have space financially, mentally, and in terms of time,
people naturally become calmer and smile more.

I believe that those smiles are the ultimate beauty.

Beauty for me

It doesn't have to be perfect.
It's okay to fail, to be tired, or to cry.
Even so, keep looking forward and live at your own pace.
What you do for others will eventually come back to you.
Be considerate of others and cherish both those around you and yourself.
By doing so, you become a person who is cherished.

I want to continue the effort to polish not just my appearance, but the beauty of my heart.

I think that way of being is more beautiful than anything else.

Beauty for me is
cherishing yourself and being considerate of those around you.
