#69 Don't you want to recreate Saizeriya's spicy chicken?
Everyone's favorite, Saizeriya's spicy chicken.
There are many copycat recipes for various dishes, not just spicy chicken, but I've never really been able to recreate them.
No matter how much I imitate it, the original is still better.
So, I've decided not to expect much from copycat recipes.
However, with a glimmer of hope, I still end up wanting to give it a try.
This time, I'll refer to several copycat recipes for Saizeriya's spicy chicken and combine them to make the ultimate spicy chicken.
Although I call it a recreation of Saizeriya's spicy chicken, in reality, it's a bit different.
So, for now, please don't think of it as a recreation, but just as another simply delicious spicy chicken.
Since I'm going out of my way to write this here, I can highly recommend it!
Plus, it's super easy.
🍗 Cooking time
15 minutes (excluding 1 hour of marinating)
🍗 Ingredients
Honestly, the amounts can be rough estimates.
If you cook, you can add them by feel and it will still turn out delicious.
10 chicken wings, 10 chicken drumettes, or 500g of chicken thigh, whichever you prefer
Gochujang... 2 tablespoons
Doubanjiang (spicy bean paste)... 2 tablespoons
Chicken bouillon powder... 1 teaspoon
Grated garlic... 1 tablespoon
Grated ginger... 1 tablespoon
Sake... 2 tablespoons
Ketchup... 2 tablespoons
Salt... 1/3 teaspoon
Potato starch... 3 tablespoons
Cake flour... 3 tablespoons
Please use whichever meat you like.
Drumettes are cheaper than wings.
However, both wings and drumettes have bones, which makes them a bit difficult to eat.
If you want to eat heartily instead of picking at them, go ahead and use chicken thigh.
I like them with bones, but I also like eating them like fried chicken using thigh meat.
Either way, it really goes well with rice.
It really goes too well with it.
🍗 Recipe
Put the meat in a bowl. If using thigh meat, cut it into bite-sized pieces.
You can poke holes in the meat with a fork, or if that's too much trouble, you don't have to.Add all the seasonings, except for the potato starch and cake flour, into the bowl and rub them in by hand.
Cover with plastic wrap and let it marinate in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
If you don't have time, 15 to 30 minutes is fine.Add the potato starch and cake flour and mix well.
Pour about 2cm of oil into a pot or frying pan and fry for about 5 minutes, flipping it over.
If you don't want to use too much oil, it's fine to use less.
That's all there is to it.
It's a bit of a hassle to use oil, but it's very delicious.
Please try to recreate it.
I like cooking by taking the best parts of various recipes like this.
