[Essay] In a Room Living Alone

The day after pulling an all-nighter.
I arrived at my apartment at 1 a.m.

I'm done for!
Tomorrow is my day off, so I'm going to sleep!

Although I went to bed with great enthusiasm, I felt like I had woken up in just an instant.

Looking at the clock, it was 6:30.
A beautiful sunrise was reflected in the window.

I woke up early, but my head feels clear.
It was such a deep sleep that five and a half hours felt like an instant.
So, it was a good quality sleep, then.

Let's prepare breakfast.
I should have some sliced bread.
Toast will do, I suppose.

While thinking about what to do today, I put the bread in the toaster oven and turn on the TV with the remote.

While it's toasting, I might as well watch the morning news.

In reality, at the time, I didn't even have the energy to make a retort, and I couldn't give up on the majority of my day off that had passed in an instant along with my sleep...
In front of the TV in the darkening room, I just sat there blankly with my knees pulled to my chest.
