How Wonderful, Shinano Railway
On a day when the summer heat still lingered,
I wanted to take a route through Nagano to get from Nagoya to Tokyo, so I was riding the Shinano Railway.
It might be a whim, but I felt like riding it, so well, it couldn't be helped.
It's about an hour and a half from Shinonoi to Karuizawa,
I'm excited to see what kind of sensations the scenery flowing by on the local train will draw out of me.
The long seats are about half full; it's a good balance of being comfortable enough without being too lonely.
There is even someone who looks like a train enthusiast standing and trying to capture the scenery outside in photos.
At an intermediate station, a young man and woman who looked like a couple got on and sat opposite me across the aisle.
The woman had an outfit that didn't quite suit her but gave off a highland girl vibe, and she had a highland girl-style suitcase; she was already in Karuizawa mode!
The man was wearing a black short-sleeved T-shirt and black shorts, and he had a large, bulky backpack like a solo backpacker, plus a regular-sized daypack; it was all a bit unbalanced. 😳
And then, what's more... something like a large, white, semi-transparent trash bag... he was holding it in his hand, cinched tight at the top without being closed.
W-what kind of luggage is that?
Why would you bring something like that on a train???
Is he an out-of-season Santa Claus warming up? 🎅
If so, he's too young and his beard isn't white.
When I sneak a peek while pretending to look out the window, the contents look like towels or clothes.
Maybe their accommodation didn't have a coin laundry, and they had no choice but to bring it on the train... Well, if that's the case, it can't be helped...
Hmm? 😳😳
Both the backpack and the daypack are packed so tight that nothing else could possibly fit.
If the contents of this semi-transparent plastic bag are laundry... where were they kept?
Could it be that this itself was originally a third piece of luggage...?
In the first place, why a white semi-transparent plastic bag?
You can see the contents faintly.
A black plastic bag would have been better... or maybe not? 😆
Besides, why isn't the top closed?
Is there a reason?
My brain is completely filled with "why?"
Oh 💧... whether it's laundry or just luggage, what if there are underpants in there... no, I shouldn't look too closely; if I were to see something like that by any chance 😳😳😳
I must look away from the bag just in case!
I must not look!
I try pretending to look out the window, but out of morbid curiosity, my eyes keep drifting to the white semi-transparent plastic bag.
Fortunately, my eyes are narrow, so the movement of my eyeballs shouldn't be detected.
The girlfriend next to him didn't seem to care at all, and she started talking to him and leaning on his shoulder, drifting off to sleep!
Is this state the default for them?
It remains a scene that is too 'peculiar' for me; girlfriend, don't fall asleep! 😆
Do something, like point at the white semi-transparent plastic bag and talk about it... do something! 😆
Just as I was exhausted from the battle with the mystery,
they got off at Nakakaruizawa, one stop before Karuizawa... of course, carrying the white semi-transparent plastic bag luggage as well.
Shinano Railway,
What left an impression was the white semi-transparent plastic bag and the boyfriend's leg hair... 👀
Next is Karuizawa; I will see something beautiful in Karuizawa, no, I want to see it, I must see it, I should see it! 😅

I'm hoping to have it collected, so I'm looking forward to it
