May 10, 2026 (Sun) | Vegetable Character Bread Making and Tomato Seedling Planting Experience Day No. 22
The long-awaited Sunday has finally arrived.
We welcomed the day for the vegetable character bread making experience and tomato seedling planting experience at the laid-back bakery!
The five vegetable dolls that we spent about four months creating with the shop managers were all gathered, and the vegetable character bread specially made for the occasion, along with Nodagiri's vegetable character display, were lined up in the store.
Four pairs of parents and children participated on the day.
We started with bread making.
Using the bread dough that had been prepared for them, the children shaped their favorite vegetable characters.
While the bread was baking, we moved on to the tomato seedling planting experience.
I wonder if there were some children touching soil for the first time?
Though they were hesitant at first, at the signal of "Ready, set, go!" they became absorbed in filling the planters with soil.
After that, they made holes to plant the seedlings, and took turns watering them with watering cans as they planted them.
Despite it being a first-time experience for everyone, they were able to work hard and finish until the end.
While we were doing that, the bread finished baking, so we returned to the room for a picture book reading session.
Seeing the cute baked bread, everyone smiled.
Their very happy expressions were impressive.
Nodagiri ate his right away, but one girl didn't eat hers for a while.
When I asked, "Why aren't you eating it?"
She replied, "I'm saving it to give to my dad."
Seeing such a scene warmed my heart as well.
This was another first attempt, but we were able to safely finish a lively and fun time.
Thank you very much.
