[Poem] Where You Don't Know
The morning when your eyes
and the sun aligned perfectly
To soften the light
just a little bit,
the clouds
come rushing from the edge of the sky
You think of it
as just a cloudy day
The morning when you
walk with your head down alone
The morning mist that had blocked your view
upon hearing your footsteps,
slowly begins to unravel
You think of it
as just the weather clearing up
The night when your hands
are cold and numb
A breeze blowing from nowhere gathers up the sighs spilled across the city,
gently wraps them up again with both hands,
and turns them into a small warmth
You think of it
as just the wind dying down by chance
When your tears
fall to a place
where no one can see them
The earth silently receives them,
and to the tips of dark roots,
shares just a little bit of them
When spring comes
and unknown flowers bloom
You will surely
not realize
that it is the color born from your own tears
The night you cannot sleep
The lights shining in distant windows,
the white lines on the platform waiting for the last train,
the cold fluorescent lights of the convenience store
All of them,
little by little,
remain in the night to dilute your loneliness
Without knowing anything,
you are at the window again today,
receiving the soft morning
As if
all by yourself,
you had walked all the way here
Even so, the world
does not blame you
Even if you don't notice,
even if you don't say thank you,
even if you keep your back turned
Clouds flow as clouds
Mist unravels as mist
The wind, as the wind
Goes off to find someone's cold hands
The world
Does not turn by the strength of one person alone
In places you do not know
In places someone else does not know
Nameless things
Little by little
While taking on each other's burdens
Are holding up this day
So that it does not collapse
So if you
Are smiling without knowing anything
That is
Not ignorance
But proof that the world
In places you do not know
Was working properly again today
And perhaps
You, too
Without realizing it
Are becoming a cloud
In someone else's sky
