If it's a community cat, you can use free tickets for the operation, but if it's a rescue, you have to pay for everything out of pocket. Initial medical expenses are about 30,000 yen. When the question of who will cover that comes up...

Well, I had a sneaking suspicion this would happen the moment I got the call, but...

Arrived home with the cat.
Usually, I would assemble a cage to prepare for its arrival.
Then I would observe it for about a week to ten days.
That's to get it used to people.

But!

This one seems different. It's way too used to people. In that case, I guess I don't need a cage, so I prepared a litter box, food, and water.

Right now, this 'new guy' is in my bedroom (formerly the rescue cat room). There is an escape-prevention gate inside the door, so it's like a prison... no, a comfortable private room.
It looks like I'll be living with this new cat for a while.

At first, I even suspected he might be someone's pet because he was so used to people, but he was dirty and quite thin. I don't think he's a pet.

He must have somehow survived this winter.
And I don't think he has a mother.

If he had a mother cat, she would have taught him to be wary of humans.
But it seems he wasn't taught any cat common sense.
Because being friendly to people is considered 'uncommon sense' in the cat world (lol)

He must have been separated from his mother cat early on, and without knowing anything, he found a feeding spot somewhere and desperately survived. Thinking about that makes me tear up😭
