Even if money disappeared from the world, I think I would continue to share meditation "forever."

I received a baton from Tarika for a note project titled Charity, so I will write a little about it.

[Charity—The practice of love lives on in different forms]

"Even if the world were to become one without money,
I think I would surely be sharing meditation with someone just as I do now."

This is a feeling like a 'conviction' that suddenly welled up within me.

◉ What is "Charity"?

When people hear the word "Charity," many might think of "donations" or "philanthropic activities."

However, when you touch the roots of the word, its resonance is much gentler and more fundamental than that.

The Latin word "caritas"—this is a word that means "love," "kindness," and "compassion."

When tracing the etymology of this word even deeper, it is sometimes translated as "the trust that a soul directs toward another soul" or "the warmth of giving without reservation."

In other words, Charity is not originally about the exchange of money, but rather
"a way of being that seeks to share one's very existence without reservation—"

that was what it was.

◉ For me, "Charity" is meditation itself

Meditation is not the kind of thing where you receive a reward because you teach it to someone,
or where compensation is generated because you provide knowledge—I don't think it's that kind of thing.

Rather, the time I spend meditating with someone is
a time to
simply watch by their side as the "original stillness" within that person begins to sprout.

That feels closer to a sense of "encountering and returning" rather than "giving."

By teaching someone,
by sharing stillness with someone,
it is actually my own soul that remembers.

I feel as though I have always been placed within such a cycle and kept alive by it.

◉ "Meditation is also a form of love."

Meditation, in other words, is self-charity (compassion for oneself).

You don't have to try to stop the noise in your head.
You can step away from someone else's expectations or results for a moment.
You can just return to your true self.

It is about gifting that forgiveness of existence to yourself.

That is the gateway to meditation,
and when it is shared with someone—
it becomes a quiet exchange of love called "Charity."

◉ Even if the world were to become one without money, I would surely continue to do this forever.

For over 20 years, I have shared meditation with many different people in many different places.

In a meditation center in the forests of Kathmandu, Nepal.
In a corner of the hustle and bustle of Tokyo, in the silence of the forests of Nagano.
Sometimes for free, sometimes for a fee, sometimes just on the side of the road.

But no matter the format—

I think, "I will never stop sharing meditation."

Because, this is my 'path' and my 'joy'.

Yes, this is neither a "job" nor an "activity."
It is the very act of 'me living'—I believe that is what Charity truly is.

◉ Finally.

Charity is
love made visible.
And it is like a bridge where prayer descends to be by someone's side.

That is why today, too, I will—
quietly, yet surely—
if there is such a thing as "true meditation,"
I would like to continue sharing it.

That is Charity to me.

This time, I participated in this note Charity Baton project. It was a time when the word "sharing" resonated quietly and deeply within me as well.

And now, I would like to pass this theme on to that special someone.

I am already looking forward to seeing from what perspective "Charity" will be discussed (*^^*)
