From my

25 years of
consulting experience,
what I have felt is that
there are more people than I imagined
who feel uncomfortable with accounting.
And what many people want from accounting
is "simplicity" rather than "accuracy."
I also realized that what everyone wants to know

So, I included two features in this book.
One is that I collaborated with my
college junior daughter
to attempt writing the book in a dialogue format.
The other is

using my original tool,

to decipher various accounting issues.
My daughter dreams of opening a cafe in the future.
However, she is not good with logic or numbers.
So, I, who am good at teaching company numbers,
made sure to break down the basics of accounting
one by one.
What I used for that
was the diagram tool called
the "Money Block Puzzle."

This is a puzzle I use daily
in my consulting work.
Financial statements that look like nothing but rows of numbers
quickly transform into two simple squares.
Even people who cannot read numbers
can roughly and simply decipher
the flow of a company's money.

to find where the problems are in the money flow
and think of solutions.
For example, it becomes possible to do something
that seems impossible at first glance:
"increasing profits while increasing salaries (labor costs)."

Once you master the block puzzle,
you will be able to solve
everyday troublesome number problems
simply.
The Money Block Puzzle is
by no means a difficult accounting tool.
In fact, when I used the block puzzle

to teach a money class for high school girls,
it was well-received
and was even featured on the popular TV program
"Cambria Kyuden."
The book born from that class
has become a bestseller with over 100,000 copies sold.
I hope this book will be the one
that completely changes your image of accounting!
