Pruning Lavender with My Daughter

The lavender I planted in front of the entrance has finished its main blooming period. I had been enjoying the soothing, fluffy purple form and scent every morning before work, so I decided it was time to prune it.
Since the flowers had mostly finished blooming, it was a bit late to process them. I had actually intended to prune them a little earlier, but I think a week or two passed before I knew it after I first thought about doing it. Time flies, doesn't it?

It was 6:30 on a Sunday morning. I took my shears and went outside before the sun became too intense.
Before long, my daughter appeared and said, "I want to be outside with you," so I asked her to go get her own scissors and help me with the pruning.First, I taught her that the place to cut is near the base of the stem where the flower has grown, just above where new, small leaves are sprouting from the sides.

Sometimes she would accidentally cut off a bunch of new buds, but since there were so many, I let it slide and just let her cut as she pleased.
When I watched a tutorial video on YouTube, it said to trim them just above the new buds. However, there were probably a hundred flower stems. At first, I cut them one by one carefully, but since I wasn't selling them, I started cutting them in bunches of 5 to 10 halfway through. I felt that cutting in groups of up to 10 was most efficient, as cutting more than that made it hard to reach the right spot.

I was glad that I unexpectedly got to prune the lavender with my daughter. It's one more step in my silent recruitment into the world of gardening.

The scent of lavender didn't seem to strike a chord with my daughter; she was pretty indifferent about it.
I chose to plant it because my wife said she likes the scent of lavender, so it's not exactly my favorite scent either. I understand her indifference. Still, it is a nice lavender scent.I am in charge of taking care of the lavender, but it grows beautifully even when left mostly alone in the ground, and it adds color to my mornings, so I will continue to take good care of it.
I decided to bundle the pruned lavender flowers to dry them. Thinking about whether to make something with them, mix them back into the soil, or use them as mulch is another part of the fun.

I am very happy and encouraged when I receive likes and follows. Please feel free to do so if you'd like.
I made this using the lavender I picked later.
Have you ever had lavender tea?
I tried sealing it in resin.
