About Niceduck
Niceduck is a company working on research and development of medical AI, system development, and operational improvement using generative AI.
I am currently involved in the research and development of Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) that supports cancer treatment using light, in a joint research project with Osaka University.
While continuing my research, something left a strong impression on me.
Even with high-performance AI,
if there is no mechanism for it to be naturally and continuously used in the field, it is difficult for it to take root in daily operations.
Who will use it?
Who will check it?
What procedures will be used for operation?
Only when such workflows are in place does AI become a useful tool in the field.
What I felt in the nursing care field
After that, I had more opportunities to receive consultations about AI utilization from nursing care facilities and home-visit nursing care offices.
While listening to their stories, there was something that many people talked about in common.
"I'm interested in AI."
"I think it seems useful."
On the other hand,
"I don't know where to start."
"I don't know how to explain it to the staff."
"I don't know how to proceed in a way that suits our facility."
We have heard many such voices.
In the field, people are busy with daily tasks alone, and it is not easy to secure time to promote new initiatives.
That is precisely why I feel that a form where you can proceed while trying things out one by one is necessary.
