Noter Observation Log: The Writers Living in the Forest of Note
It has been
nearly three months since I started note.
I suddenly realized that in this sea of note,
there are many different ways to 'swim'.
Those who dive deep at full speed.
Those who stare intently at the ripples on the surface.
Those who just float along as if talking to themselves.
Each of them, at their own pace,
lives the act of 'writing'.
Such writers also have their own 'ecology'.
In the forest of note,
a truly diverse variety of 'note writers'
are living today.
They are called—'noters'.
They
sometimes dig, talk, design, and talk until they drop.
I have taken the liberty of classifying these noters
into 6 types.
(+1 new species)
So, which type are you?
● The Deep Diggers (Diggers)

The geologists of the note world.
Once they start thinking, they can't stop.
Even if they write 5,000 characters on one theme, it's still not enough.
Rather than writing note, they dig.
They dig and dig and dig through.
▶︎ Before you know it, it has become 'Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, and an Afterword'.
▶︎ Prone to entering a digging loop called revision.
● The Daily Sketchers (Observers)

Nameless essay flowers blooming at the edges of life.
On the train, the convenience store clerk, a word from family.
Masters of verbalizing the 'faint tremors' of daily life.
A quiet gaze that finds value in the 'casual'.
They inhabit the forest of note in large numbers.
▶︎ Sometimes people are surprised, saying 'Wait, you were looking at that...?'
▶︎ Sensitive to changes in seasons and humidity.
● The Storytellers (Storytellers)

Living on the border between novels and essays.
They want to tell essays like novels, too.
The type that breathes life into the background, emotions, and actions of characters.
Even if there are many characters, 'themselves' are somehow mixed in.
▶︎ The note is already a stage. They provide all the direction and lighting themselves.
▶︎ The excuse 'This is fiction (probably)' has become second nature.
● The Instigators (Structure Fetishists)

The architect of the Note world.
Introduction, development, twist, conclusion? Introduction, twist, development, conclusion? Or perhaps the 7R method?
A craftsman-like Noter who writes while designing the 'emotional flow' of the reader.
▶︎ They have already simulated the movement of the reader's gaze.
▶︎ They have a desire to make the reader nod three times in the 'introduction,' twice in the 'twist,' and cry in the 'development.'
● Habit of Self-Reflection (Introspective Labyrinth)

Note = Mirror.
Today, I peer into myself using the mirror that is Note.
Each time, a slightly different 'me' reveals their face.
Questions posed to the reader and a boomerang aimed at myself fly in as a set.
▶︎ I want to be 'understood,' yet I also think, 'I don't want anyone to understand.'
▶︎ Even after closing Note, the 'internal Note' continues.
● Snack Bar Proprietor Type (Casual Storyteller)

Their catchphrase is, 'I wonder if anyone will come by tonight.'
The theme doesn't really matter.
They just pour drinks for whoever shows up and talk.
But for some reason,
sometimes their storytelling makes you cry.
▶︎ The comment section feels like a 'regular's seat.'
▶︎ Sometimes, a menu appears on their Note.
New Species Discovered
● Sketcher-Type Lemonarist

The quiet visualization craftsman of the Note world.
Rather than 'digging' into text, it's closer to 'drawing.'
If they have something they want to convey, they open Note as if spreading out a canvas.
The speed at which they instantly capture the images floating in their mind,
and their sense of color that draws in the reader's emotions are their hallmarks.
The subjects they draw—daily life, emotions, metaphors—
yes, everything can become a 'work of art.'
▶︎ Even if the text is short, it pierces the reader's heart with its imagery and atmosphere.
▶︎ Even if the title is undecided, they tend to finish the eye-catching image first.
Every writer is settled somewhere.
In the sea of Note, in the forest, and sometimes in the desert.
It doesn't matter which type you are.
As long as you are writing, you are a 'resident of Note.'
This is based on my own judgment and prejudice, so
if you think, 'What are you looking at?!'
please let me know,
and I will promptly perform a sliding dogeza
and press my head to the ground.
──By the way, which type are you?
By the way, I am the type who
thought I was diving into the 'Introspective Labyrinth'
but before I knew it, I started talking as a 'Snack Bar Proprietor.'
In other words, a bundle of contradictions.
Note is,
a den for such people as well.
──And that's the end of the story.
