How to Deal with the Urge to Urinate
If I feel even the slightest urge to urinate, I can't stop thinking about it.
In that moment, all of my concentration is taken away by it.
In terms of how it feels, my enjoyment drops by about 30 percent.
Because of this, I go to the bathroom frequently.
Going to a movie theater is the worst.
Even if I go to the bathroom before the screening, the moment I think, 'I'm going to be stuck here for two hours,' my mind becomes completely filled with thoughts of the bathroom.
What if I need to go in the middle of the movie?
If I stand up, it will be a nuisance to others, but if I hold it, I won't be able to follow the story.
While I'm thinking about that, for some reason, the urge actually gets stronger.
It's probably psychosomatic, but even knowing that, there's nothing I can do about it.
That's why, when I go to movies or concerts, I always make sure to choose a seat near the exit.
Just having the peace of mind that I can go to the bathroom immediately makes the urge subside for some reason.
Conversely, the moment I feel like there is 'no escape,' everything begins.
It's the same when I stay in a room with others while traveling.
If I go to the bathroom many times, I feel like they'll think, 'How many times is this guy going to go?'
So, I decide to 'keep it to three times or less,' but this restriction has the opposite effect.
The more I think, 'Don't come,' the more it comes for some reason.
As a result, there have been times when I couldn't sleep a wink.
At this point, it's closer to a concept than just an urge to urinate.
Even now, as I write this article, I'm starting to feel a little concerned about it.
I'm going to go to the bathroom for a moment.
——
This trait didn't just start recently.
It has been going on since I was in kindergarten.
When I was five years old, I came up with a solution to this problem.
'Wouldn't it be better to let it out little by little?'
The problem is that I store it in my bladder.
If I keep letting it out in small amounts, I should be able to maintain a constant state.
If it's a small amount, it will dry quickly.
Once it dries, I'll let it out again.
Repeating that process.
The logic was actually quite sound.
I actually tried it.
However, it was harder than I thought.
Even though I intended to let it out little by little, the amount at one time was too much.
As a result,
Splosh, splosh, splosh!
I naturally ended up wetting my pants.
Naturally, those around me judged it as wetting myself.
However, I wasn't convinced.
Wetting oneself should originally refer to 'it coming out against one's will.'
This was different.
This was a completely controlled discharge.
I just failed, that's all.
A few days later, I tried again.
The first time went somewhat well.
But I failed on the second attempt.
As a result, I was judged as having wet myself again.
Even so, I didn't give up and continued to try, and as a result, I became known by those around me as 'the guy who wets himself all the time.'
And eventually, I got cystitis.
Even now, I still don't know the right way to deal with it.
For now, I'm going to the bathroom.
