Message in a Bottle 」は、イギリスのロックバンド、ポリスの曲です。2枚目のスタジオアルバム「Reggatta de Blanc」（1979年）のリードシングルとしてリリースされました。バンドのリードシンガー兼ベーシストのスティングが書いたこの曲は、愛を求めてボトルに入ったメッセージを送る島に漂流した男の物語を表向きに描いています。1年間返事が来なかった彼は絶望し、自分は孤独な運命にあると信じています。しかし翌日、彼は海岸に「1000億本のボトル」を目にし、自分と同じように孤独な人々が他にもたくさんいることに気づきます。

Message in a Bottle is a song by the British rock band The Police. It was released as the lead single from their second studio album, "Reggatta de Blanc" (1979). The song, written by the band's lead singer and bassist Sting, ostensibly tells the story of a man stranded on an island who sends a message in a bottle in search of love. After not receiving a response for a year, he despairs and believes he is doomed to loneliness. But the next day, he sees "100 billion bottles" on the shore and realizes that there are many other people just like him who are lonely.
