From among the many stages, find your own unique encounter---The new flyer bundle you can find at the theater, "STAGES," starts in September 2024!
Hello. This is Shimichan, a staff member at Ochirashisan.
At Nebula Enterprise, which operates Ochirashisan, we distribute flyer bundles containing information about upcoming performances at about 40 to 50 venues in the Tokyo metropolitan area every month. Many of you have likely picked them up before, using the outer bands labeled "Caution!" or "Choice!" as a guide, right?
Starting in September, we will be renewing the name and design of our flyer bundles to better align with your current theater-going lifestyle following the COVID-19 pandemic. The name of this new flyer bundle, designed to enhance your theater-going experience, is"STAGES"!

In this article, to help you make the most of STAGES, we will introduce the wishes we have poured into these flyer bundles and the new outer band design!
The "Flyer Bundle," an essential part of the Japanese performing arts scene
Flyer bundles are something you can pick up in the lobby or at your seat when you visit a theater. They have been widely cherished in the Japanese performing arts scene as items that inform you about upcoming productions and enhance your theater-going experience. Since 2002, Nebula Enterprise has been providing a "flyer insertion agency service," responsible for creating these bundles, primarily in the Tokyo metropolitan area. Through the distribution of flyer bundles for about 40 to 50 performances, totaling approximately 90,000 to 100,000 copies per month, this is an important project that connects audiences with performance groups.

<Major theaters where flyer bundles are distributed>

From among the many stages, find your own unique encounter---
Experiences that stir your heart in ways you cannot taste in daily life,
and encounters with works that might change your life just a little bit.
Hoping that the many small miracles created by the performing arts will visit you,
we present STAGES to you.
The English lettering (STAGES) in the logo design and the frame surrounding it represent the stage, while the design of the title text and the dakuten (voiced sound marks) placed above the stage express the excitement and thrill of encountering stage performances.

The outer band that holds the flyer bundle together has also been renewed with a double-sided color design!
The flyer bundle you can find at the theater, "STAGES," is marked by a new outer band design featuring the brand logo!

On the cover, our new original character, "Pan-o" the polar bear, uses easy-to-understand illustrations to show how to pick up and make use of STAGES (the flyer bundle). When you find STAGES, please pick it up, look inside, and try to find a flyer that catches your eye!

The inside features illustrations introducing how to spend time at the theater, such as "turning off your mobile phone before the performance begins." We support every audience member—whether it's your first time at the theater or you've come from overseas—as you gather at the theater to enjoy a performance together.

If you've enjoyed your time at the theater and want to find your next stage, you can look for interesting productions in the flyer bundle, or check out our official X account (@stages_nevula)! We deliver the latest information on stage performances.
Original characters "Always STAGES!"
Five original characters, including "Pan-o," appear on the outer band of the "STAGES" flyer bundle and on our official X account. Please look forward to them!

<STORY> A story about the "STAGES" adventure of dwarf siblings living modestly in the corner of a theater and animals that escaped from the zoo in search of freedom.
Pan-o... A laid-back polar bear. It seems he has another real name, but he is called "Pan-o" because he is always carefully holding his favorite sandwich in both hands.
Maple... A gentle goat. A gourmet who loves delicious paper.
Cookie... A curious and confident monkey. He wants to have fun interacting with other animals and humans.
Match... The older brother of the dwarf siblings. He was a drawing that a child mischievously drew on the riser of the theater seats, but eventually, a soul inhabited it, and since then, he has lived in a corner of the theater. He has watched over many performances for many years.
Sowa... The younger sister of the dwarf siblings, born under the same circumstances as Match. She is more tomboyish than her brother and dreams of being a glamorous dancer.

What's playing now?! "STAGES Calendar"
As a web content for STAGES, we have released the "STAGES Calendar," a Google Spreadsheet that summarizes performance information for the next four months. In addition to being able to view a list of about 1,000 performances, mainly in the Tokyo metropolitan area, you can also download it as an Excel file to customize it by sorting, adding, or deleting items according to your own needs and preferences! We are here to help with questions like "What's playing now?" or "What can I see on my next day off?"
