Musicful AI music generation tool's
"mashup" feature.

To be honest,
I initially overlooked
this feature😇

I completely misjudged it.

And it became incredibly fun
in ways I didn't expect.

First of all, what is a musical "mashup"?

Roughly speaking, it's
taking two or more songs and
recombining them into one.

It's a classic technique

• putting the vocals of song A
  over the accompaniment of song B

  alternately

and things like that.

It's similar to a remix, but while a remix is "recreating

a mashup is

"combining multiple songs."

And originally, this is

fairly tedious task
of cutting waveforms in a DAW, matching the BPM and key, and so on.

With Musicful,
it's done in just a few clicks.

Steps to create a mashup on Musicful

It was so easy it was
almost anticlimactic.

1. Click the menu (...) of the song you want to use as a base

It's the "..." on the right side
of the song you created.

2. Select "Create" ->
"Mashup"

A menu will appear, so click
"Mashup" from the list
on the left side.

3. Choose the song you want to mix in

With the audio section set to the
"Mashup" tab,
add the second song.

4. Choose the lyrics

This is a bit of a
fork in the road👀

• Mashup lyrics
  ... The AI mixes and reconstructs
  the lyrics of both songs

• Lyrics of [Song Name]
  ... Use one or the other
  as is

• Keep as is

"Mashup lyrics" consumes
2 credits.
(This is quietly important)

5. Press "Create Song"

6. Finished in about 2 minutes!

That is all.

...That's it???

It makes you feel like,
what was all that
struggle in the DAW
for? 🤣

Experiment 1: Mixing the same vocals together

Starting with the safe bet.

My partner character
Sora-chan's songs,

• K-POP song
  "NO BRAKE"

• World Cup cheering song
  "It's in front of the goal"

Mash up these
two songs.

For the lyrics, I
selected
"Mashup Lyrics".

Since they are the same vocalist,
this is already
a perfect blend.

Zero sense of awkwardness.

And what came out was a song
where the stylishness of K-POP
is layered with the intensity
of a cheering song.

When you mix different genres
from the same singer,
it feels like a new song
by that person is created.

It feels like having your wish
to "hear this artist
sing a song like this"
come true.

Experiment 2: Mixing different vocals together

So, this is where the real fun begins.

If it worked with the same vocals,

That's what I ended up wondering.

I prepared:

• Vocaloid idol
  Hikari-chan's
  "Start of Summer"

• Sora-chan's
  "NO BRAKE"

For the lyrics, I used
"Start of Summer"
as the base.

(Just select
"Start of Summer lyrics"
from the lyrics button)

The result—

a duet between Sora & Hikari-chan
was born! 🎉

Wow, I didn't
expect this at all.

The stylishness of K-pop mixed with
the originally upbeat
Vocaloid song,

and the song itself
turned out
incredibly well.

Since their voices
alternate,
it's a complete collaboration song,really.

This is so much fun.

Honest Impressions

What I Liked

• The process is truly simple.
  It's done in just a few clicks

• Finished in about 2 minutes.
  No stress from waiting

• It's thoughtful that you can
  choose how to handle the lyrics
  (mix them / keep one)

• Using different vocals
  creates a collaboration song.
  This was my biggest discovery

What I Didn't Like

Not much, really.
If I had to say something...👇

• The result is
  completely up to the AI.
  You can't make specific requests
  like "only use this chorus"
  

• So, there are hits and misses.
  It's quite common
  not to get it right on the first try

In other words,
it's a feature to "enjoy the surprise"
rather than "aim to create something specific"
.

It's like a gacha game.

But that,
on the contrary, was fun.

Because it comes up with
combinations
I would never think of myself.

Tips: How to mix for better success?

Based on my experience
trying a few things👇

• Same vocal × different genre
  → Stable.
  Creates a "new song" for that character

• Different vocal × similar tempo
  → Fun with a real collaboration feel.
  My top recommendation

• When you don't want to mix lyrics,
  using one set of lyrics as a base
  makes the structure less likely to fall apart

I felt that songs with
similar tempos
are easier to blend together.

Also, if you
use one as the base lyrics, it creates a
"familiar song sung by
someone else"
vibe, which is
also really fun.

Recommended for people who

• have accumulated
  a few of their own songs

• are thinking, "I can't think of
  any use for this other song"

• want to hear collaboration songs
  between their favorite characters
  (this one)

• just want to
  play around with AI 🤤✨

In particular, if you
are making songs with
multiple characters, you
definitely should try this.

Duets really
get you excited.

Summary | Just mix them to create a collaboration song

Mashups—even though I
initially ignored them,
I have to say,

this might be the most
"fun" feature
on Musicful.

Personally, I
definitely recommend
mashing up different
vocalists.

It sounds like a collaboration song,
and it's incredibly fun.
