Toki (Setsu), who was sent as a young girl from the Ameshimizu family (the Koizumi family in historical fact) to the Matsuno family (the Inagaki family), had a complicated relationship. A rumor spread that there was an elegant beggar in Matsue.
It is the biological mother of Toki (Setsu), who had fallen into extreme poverty.
In historical fact, neither her brother nor her mother were saved.
In an era without established social welfare systems or public assistance, the end for those who fell into poverty was extremely harsh.
The brother and mother of the historical Setsu Koizumi were in a truly dire state even among the fallen samurai class,
