[Poem] Prayer Rain

I wipe the overflowing tears with the back of my hand
I bite my lip because I hate losing to my emotions
You just watch me silently
Being so childish
I am the one who was hurt
Stop making that face as if you are in pain

I thought I was the happiest person in the world
I was convinced it would last forever
A dream story like a parhelion
Foolish and ridiculous
Pitiful and beyond saving

I hear thunder in the distance
Surely, very soon
Large raindrops will begin to fall
You have no umbrella, so you should just get wet
I will never lend you
This umbrella of mine again

I will go without an umbrella too
Pretending to be a little troubled
By the rain hitting my face no matter how much I wipe it away

I run as if to shake everything off
Soaking wet
Searching for a place to escape to
