[New Song] "Distorted Envy" — "Jealousy" becomes the fuel (noise) for evolution.

Hello, observers.
This is NEKØ:CODE🐈‍⬛🎸

Today, I released the MV for my new song, "Distorted Envy."

❶ Why did I choose "jealousy" as the theme?
── Emotions in a comparative society and the SNS era

The theme this time is "jealousy."

You might find it a bit surprising.
But as NEKØ:CODE, it was an emotion I knew I had to face someday.

We live in an era where opening social media instantly exposes us to someone else's success, talent, numbers, and recognition.

While it has become more convenient, I also believe it is a world where "comparison" has become a daily occurrence.

"Why is it always them?"
"Why isn't it me?"
"I feel like I'm being left behind."

I'm sure there are many people who have felt these emotions.

But I couldn't simply label that"dark emotion"as evil.

❷ Is a dark emotion evil?
── Turning jealousy into the heat to move forward

To feel jealous,
in other words,"I actually want to go there too"is proof that you are wishing for it.

That's why in "Distorted Envy,"
I didn't write a song about being swallowed by jealousy, but a "song about turning jealousy into fuel to move forward."

"Jealousy" becomes the fuel (noise) for evolution.

That is the core theme of this song.

❸ Because it's a static MV
── What I put into the lyrics and subtitle direction

For the MV, I am once again using a base of a single illustration plus subtitle direction.
Rather than having the character move intensely, NEKØ:CODE's MVs value the style of showing the "lyrics themselves" as the visuals.

Especially this time, I finely adjusted the subtitle direction.

The distinction between 『』 and 「」,
the emotional expression through red text,
and the double expression like a "fake" image.

The more the emotions rise, the more I gave the text a sense of temperature, imagining noise heating up inside YUI.

Because it's a static MV,
I want you to see the"heat of the words."That was the thought behind the production.

❹ I introduced YUI's Les Paul (lol)

And this time, what personally got me really excited was the guitar YUI is holding (lol)

The Les Paul-type guitar used in the MV is a 3D model I bought on CGTrader.
Actually, I've admired Gibson Les Pauls for a long time... the moment I found it, I bought it almost immediately.

You might say, "No, you should buy the real thing!" but the original is expensive, after all (lol)

But when I had VRoid's YUI hold it, it fit even better than I imagined, and personally, it's a huge favorite of mine🎸

Being able to "pack in the things you love" like this is one of the fun parts of creation, isn't it?

❺ "Obsession" dwelling in AI creation
── In the end, I think it's about humanity

Even in an era where music is made with AI,
I think what ultimately dwells in the work is "that person's obsession."

What kind of sounds to choose.
What kind of words to write.
What kind of guitar to have them hold.

The accumulation of such small details becomes the "uniqueness" of that work.

NEKØ:CODE is also still in the middle of development.

And actually, I am currently working on a completely original new outfit for YUI.
I might be able to reveal it next month.

For the next MV, I am planning a work that combines a new song suited for the season of June, as well as the reveal of the new outfit🌧️✨

What kind of scenery YUI and RUI will show me from here on out,
I am very much looking forward to it myself.
