Kee-chan the Black Cat (Our Shop Cat), Born from a Rescue at a Multi-Cat Household Collapse Site 🐈‍⬛

I live with two rescue cats.
(Unfortunately, they are not at the shop.)
My shop is a one-person operation, and my basic stance is to 'listen' to what customers have to say.
(Though I do sometimes end up talking too much...)

I would like to tell you about how I met Kee-chan, the black cat.

A Fateful Encounter with Black Cat Siblings

This, too, came about through a connection with an acquaintance who supports rescue cats.
I was introduced to black cat siblings born on May 10, 2022.
Believe it or not, they share the same birthday as the shop owner.
'This must be fate.'
I felt something destined about it.

They came from a poultry farm where a multi-cat household collapse had occurred.
A rescue organization and a veterinarian worked together to rescue the cats.
The mother cat gave birth to five kittens while being transported.
Perhaps because of the harsh conditions they were in, she reportedly abandoned them.

These little lives were taken in by milk foster volunteers.
To help identify each kitten, they were given green, yellow, and blue ribbons around their necks.
Introduced by my acquaintance, I immediately asked to meet them.

Since I already have a resident cat named Micchan, I told them in advance that I could only take one, and they kindly agreed.

After a nervous first meeting with the kittens at an animal clinic in Setagaya, I adopted 'Kee-chan,' the one with the yellow ribbon, who warmed up to me right away.
This was a month later, after I had finished the vaccinations for my resident brown tabby, Micchan, and had prepared the environment to welcome a kitten.

Born in May (Satsuki), I named her 'Itsuki' (Tree) with the hope that she would settle down and stay in our home.

・Physical ability is at an acrobat level, high communication skills
She is truly 'The Cat,' agilely jumping around and squeezing into tight spaces.
She demonstrates sociability as the situation demands.

・Easily bored and 'uncompromising'
If she doesn't like the food, she won't eat it even if she's hungry enough to vomit.
It seems her pride comes first.

・Stalker tendencies
She follows me everywhere—to the bathroom, the toilet, wherever she's curious.

・Her self-promotion skills are second to none
She steps on people and relaxes comfortably right in the middle of the bed.

She is a completely different type from my resident cat, Micchan.
Every day is a surprise and a lesson in how cats can be so different.

The 'happiness' of being together ✨ Toward a bright future for cats and people

By welcoming a rescue cat, I have come to accept the past (including human karma) and, while thinking of cats in various circumstances,
I have started to think about the future of cats and people while doing what I can right now.

I run 'Neko Bar' because I want to share the happiness of being with cats with many people.
