What I, with over 20 job changes, want to tell sensitive people
I have changed jobs more than 20 times so far.
And since my health deteriorated,
I am currently attending a Type A employment support office.
Why couldn't you keep a job for that long?
Some people might think that.
This time, I would like to talk about why I ended up quitting jobs so many times,
along with my HSP traits.
Easily noticeable sensitivity
I am not particularly flashy in appearance,
nor am I the type to stand out.
I was just an ordinary office worker you could find anywhere.
But if there was something different about me compared to others,
it was that I was very sensitive.
It's hard for people around me to tell, but I have always been
・Serious
・Wanting to be a good person
・Unable to say no
・Not talking back
・Taking restraint and patience for granted
That was my personality.
Perhaps because of that, I often became a target for my boss,
and there were many times I thought,
Why is it always me... (›´-`‹ )
The thing that was hardest for me
If it's a work mistake, that is my responsibility.
In fact, I reflect on those times very deeply.
But what was hardest for me was
unreasonable reprimands and unnecessarily
detailed criticism.
On the spot,
Yes
I understand
I would say that and swallow it (/. _.\)
It's because I'm not good at talking back,
and I don't want to be thought of as a difficult person.
If that makes work go smoothly, then that's fine.
That is what I have thought.
But when I get home, my chest feels tight.
"Why is it always me..."
"No matter where I go, I become a target."
I was filled with those kinds of feelings.
Most of my reasons for quitting were due to interpersonal relationships.
Looking back at my reasons for quitting in the past,
95% were
environment or interpersonal relationships
and the remaining 5% were
that the work didn't suit me.
I am the type who is a jack-of-all-trades, so
once I get used to the work to some extent,
I can manage it reasonably well.
That is why, until now,
・Salary
・Work location
・Two days off per week
・Benefits
I have chosen jobs based on conditions like these.
But what was truly important
was not those things.
It is okay for sensitive people to prioritize their environment.
What I finally realized is,
if the environment and interpersonal relationships are a good fit,
work becomes much easier
that is what it means ( ᐡᴗ ̫ ᴗᐡ)
Therefore, sensitive people
when choosing a job
should feel free to prioritize
"environment" and "interpersonal relationships" above all else.
For example, in my case,
・Remote work
・Freelance
・Working individually
・Small groups
・Quiet environment
・Work that can be done quietly
I realized that this way of working
suits me better.
It was a long way around, but
“Knowing yourself is important”
People often say that, but
I took quite a long way around
before I realized it.
But, because of that,
I was able to see many different worlds,
both the good
and the painful.
That is why I am able to
write this note now.
What I want to tell sensitive people
To sensitive people who are struggling in the same way.
Please, do not blame yourself.
Because you are sensitive,
you have surely been considerate of others
and have worked your hardest.
From now on,
instead of just being kind to those around you,
be a little kind to yourself, too.
And please, believe in your own potential
and try looking at many different worlds (⁎ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈⁎)
I would be happy if this note
could lighten someone's heart even a little.
