Self-Introduction | From NEET in my 30s to Side Hustle to Entrepreneurship
A comeback story from a life without dreams🦋 | I'll talk about money, freedom, and my true feelings
“Am I really okay just like this?”
🧒My elementary school days as a typical “joker”
In elementary school, I was the type who was a joking popular kid type.
I hung out with friends, sometimes got into fights, and
was always at the center of the classroom during breaks.
😂I just loved “laughter”
💼I kept saying my dream was to be a “president”
Looking back, this was when I was most filled with “groundless confidence.”
🌀Rebellious phase and wandering, days in middle school when I almost lost my way
When I entered middle school, the waves of puberty hit.
I rebelled against my parents, snuck out of the house night after night,
and started hanging out with slightly rowdy friends more often.
👨👩👧I got into a preparatory school because my parents forced me to attend, which led to me passing the entrance exam for a competitive high school
“Why me...?” I wondered in my heart
Honestly, I wasn't thinking about anything back then.
I was just being swept away by the “fun” right in front of me.
📚A major comeback from the bottom of the class! High school life and the sprouting of effort
Although I entered a competitive high school, my grades started at the very bottom.
Even the teachers looked at me with suspicion, wondering, “Is this kid going to be okay?”
But strangely, I was blessed with good relationships and had many friends.
In my third year of high school, I thought for the first time, “This is bad,” and started studying on my own.
I studied intensely for the last year and passed the entrance exam for a public university🎉
In the end, I was able to get into the top 5 in my grade.
I feel like the effort I made back then created the “roots” of who I am today.
🏖Slacking off and working part-time, my free university days
After entering university, I went back into “slack-off” mode.
I tended to skip classes and spent my days buried in part-time jobs.
I experienced over 10 different types of part-time jobs.
🍽 Restaurant work
📖 Cram school instructor
🏝 Resort part-time job, etc...
I met new people at various workplaces every day, and I enjoyed living alone to the fullest.
Every day felt like I was playing at being an adult.
Every day felt like I was playing at being an adult.
🎓 Went to graduate school aimlessly, my first setback
I heard a close friend was going to graduate school, so I just went along with it.
However, I didn't get along with my assigned professor at all and gave up on my research.
Every day I worried, 'Should I just quit?'
But in the end, a different professor took me in, and through their introduction,
I was able to get a job at a large corporation🏢.
Truly, even now, I am grateful to that teacher from back then.
🏢 Joined a large corporation, supposed to be stable but anxiety about money and the future grew
My professional life started, and I lived alone again.
For the first two years, I hung out with my peers, and on the surface, everything was 'smooth sailing'.
But deep in my heart, the anxiety of
'Is it okay to keep going like this?'😔 never went away.
💸 Monthly living expenses, car loans, savings for the future...
I get a paycheck, but I don't feel 'wealthy' at all
I started making more mistakes at work, and my motivation kept declining.
My heart wore down from days of 'working just to survive'.
⚫ Depression, attempted suicide, and then NEET life
Before I knew it, it was my third year at the company.
I developed depression, and in my fourth year, I attempted suicide.
In the end, I was forcibly sent back to my parents' home.
From there, I spent4 years as a NEET.
My day-night cycle was reversed, conversations with my family decreased, and I poured all my resources into gaming to escape reality.
🎮 I played so much that I even won a tournament.
🕯 The honest feeling of 'I don't want my life to end like this'
During my NEET life, I suddenly thought to myself.
'I don't want my life to end like this'
However, I had absolutely no idea what to do or how to do it.
My friends around me were stepping up in their careers.
I felt like I was the only one being left behind.
At that time, I kept seeing the word "side hustle" on social media and online articles.
Half-doubting, I started with a side hustle I could do with just my smartphone.📱
🚀Starting a side hustle—the moment the gears of my life began to turn
At first, I thought, "It would be nice to just earn some pocket money."
But little by little, I realized the joy of earning money through my own efforts.
🏃♂️Action → Learning → Improvement → Action again
Even if I fail, no one blames me; it's all my own responsibility.
When I get results, I'm genuinely happy.😆
Gradually, my mindset became more positive.
And now, I've started to think, "I don't want to end it here with just a side hustle.I want to create my own life."
🌟From a life without dreams to a life where I paint my own dreams
Now, in my 30s, I have a "dream."
🌍I want to live more freely.
💪I want to acquire the power to earn money on my own.
👨👩👧I want to live a rich life with my family.
🕊I want to bring hope to those who think "dreams are impossible."
If I could say one thing to my past self,
I would say, "You're fine just as you are. There is always a chance to change."
📝What I want to convey in this note
My life has not been "smooth sailing" at all.
In fact, it's been full of detours, and I've failed many times.
But for every failure, there was a "realization" and "growth."
In this note,
💰The reality of money
