Eliminating the Four Poisons | Skin Changes | Atopic Dermatitis
※This note contains photos of my skin (part of my face).
There are also scratch marks, so if you don't want to see them, please quietly close this.🙏
Also, there is some rough writing.😓lol
It's been 3 and a half months (almost 4 months) since I started eliminating the four poisons, and I clearly feel that
my skin is getting clearer, so when I took photos to compare, I could really see the difference, thinking, 'Wow, it's changed this much! 😊' and I'm feeling excited that it's definitely changing for the better ⤴️
And, and, I've lived for 20-something years, and I thought department store cosmetics were
a dream within a dream... but since I have a friend's wedding coming up and my skin is incredibly dry, I really didn't want my makeup to fall apart, so I gathered my courage and went to the store.
At that time, the beauty advisor who looked at my skin said,
'Your skin is so glossy, you must be putting in the effort!'I was surprised because I'd never been told that before, and I replied with'Ahhh, thank you... hehe'
fully unleashing my socially awkward, introverted self 😥
But honestly, I was so happy... 😆
Since I can't be sure on my own,
when someone else says it, I can believe it's true... and it motivated me to keep eliminating the four poisons ☺️
In the end, I couldn't buy any cosmetics and just received samples... but somehow, whether it was because of my original skin (the foundation) or it just didn't suit me... I had them apply it and watched for a few hours, and although it was beautiful at first, it started to look flaky and dry 💦
However, my skin moisture level was judged to be moderate, so
I guess it is atopic skin, and maybe the scratch marks are a cause... 😔 The search for a primer and foundation will continue... though I'm in a hurry since I don't have many days left.
But the beauty advisor at that store was sooo kind,
it might be expected, but she didn't force me to buy anything,
she gladly accepted that I wanted to wait and see,
and in the end, she gave me samples... I'm so grateful 🙏

Well, my story got a bit long, but I will leave the skin comparison photos here as a record.
They aren't pretty, so please excuse me 💦 but,the comparison is my past self!I'll go with the spirit of 'as long as it's cleaner than that, it's fine' ✨
※The location, after the bath and using the hair dryer, after skincare, normal camera (rear camera), and lighting, the conditions are all the same.⬇️

Top: 1 week after starting to eliminate the four poisons
Bottom: 3 and a half months after starting to eliminate the four poisons

There are still bumps, redness, and scratch marks, but don't you think my pores looka bit tighter?(I just want you to say so 🤭)
In natural light, the pores are a bit more visible, so I will continue to eliminate the four poisons and aim for even clearer skin~ ✨
I'd be happy if this becomes motivation for everyone.
⬇️ This is the skin measurement result

People who are even drier are in the single digits, so
as a number, mine doesn't seem bad.
Then why does it get flaky?

I'm happy I was complimented.
I don't know if I'll go to the same store again, but
it would be interesting if it had changed for the better when I measure it next time.

As a little supplement, here is a comparison between the photos from when I detoxed with acupuncture treatment from August 4 years ago and the current photos
⬇️

Top: August 2021
Bottom: May 2025

The reason my skin was shiny 4 years ago is because I was slathering on Vaseline. It doesn't come across in the photo, but exudate was pouring out, and it was so sticky that it was hard to move my face and neck (I couldn't turn sideways), and it was incredibly itchy, so I was scratching it raw. When I scratched, the hardened exudate would come off cleanly, so my skin felt smooth, which honestly felt good. But the exudate would just keep overflowing, so it would get sticky again, and it was a repeating cycle. The space under my fingernails after scratching was full of hardened exudate.
The sticky stuff was clinging to my whole face and neck the entire time, which was a disgusting, uncomfortable feeling. Every day was so hard I wanted to die.
Of course, I hated looking in the mirror, and washing my face and taking a bath were depressing.
I couldn't wake up in the morning, and I seriously didn't want to wake up.
I'm about to cry while writing this 🥲
I never want to go back. That's how hard it was.
But as I continued the treatment, the intensity of the detox weakened,
and I felt like I managed to return to being human and my mental state stabilized.
It took about 2 or 3 years to get this far, even with breaks, I think?
However, it hasn't completely healed, so even though 4 years have passed since I started detoxing, the inflammation and itching have quietly continued.
And when it's itchy, it's incredibly itchy.
I haven't been able to go to acupuncture for 2 years, so
I've been continuing the detox solely by eliminating the four poisons since this year.
Even so, it's still continuing, so I realize the fear of steroids.
I only applied the medicine around the change of seasons, and it was in this state, so if I had applied it almost every day for decades, it might have been even worse (?)
It's not very convincing since it hasn't completely healed yet, but
I believe it will get better.
In fact, the inflammation and itching are decreasing without applying medicine.
Compared to 4 years ago, now is nothing, so I can overcome it.
Let's do our best.

But I have a primer and foundation problem right now ←
Of course, it's prettier if I wear makeup, but if it's going to get this flaky and dry, I think, 'Wouldn't it be better to participate without makeup?!' 😆
...I'll search seriously.

It was a bit long, and there was some rough writing at times, but
thank you to those who read until the end 😭
To those who are having a hard time withdrawing from steroids right now,
it's not very convincing, but if you keep going, it will get better.
There are people who are getting better.
Let's continue to eliminate the four poisons together from now on. Without overdoing it.
May happy changes come to you all as well 🕊️💝
