If you work hard and stay positive about your job,

These are the words I was told by a manager in another department at the same branch when I was in my first year of working.
I think he said it out of concern for me, as I was the type who was quiet and worked steadily,
but these words actually
struck a chord
, and they became a support for my career
after that, as I told myself, "
support for my careerSomeone is always watching, so it's okay to go at my own pace, I'll just keep doing my best in my own way."And now, looking back, I realize that "If you work hard, someone is always watching" is
true. For someone like me who is:・Not flashy
・Bad at self-promotion
・Bad at communicating with older people
・Not charming (= not easily liked)
・Takes time to build relationshipsYou might lose out in the short term.Also, sometimes your direct supervisor might not be watching properly either.Even so, if you don't get discouraged and keep working hard, there is someone who is watching properly.That person isn't necessarily someone in a high position; it might be a colleague or a junior.
But that's fine.
After all,
I'm not working just to be evaluated.
Evaluation is something that follows as a result.
It's just right to think of it as lucky if you get a high evaluation.
More than that,
the sincere words of gratitude from members I worked with years later are worth so much more as life experience.
It's really not an exaggeration to say that
I've been moved to tears, thinking how happy I am and how glad I am to be alive🥹
Come to think of it, when I started working, I wrote this in the self-PR section of the new employee introduction newsletter:
