Especially at a time like this, a glass ring you can cherish on your hand every day
In these times, when the world has changed completely and alcohol disinfection and frequent hand washing have become the norm, I fully understand that these things are important, and I have been continuing the habit of washing my hands and gargling more diligently than ever before.
But!
One of the things that has quietly brought me down since this situation began is that it has become difficult to wear rings on my fingers...
I usually wear about two or three rings on both hands, and until now, it was normal to take them off frequently before touching water, such as in the restroom.
But now that I wash my hands and apply alcohol to them so frequently, putting the rings on and taking them off is a hassle, and I'm afraid I'll accidentally lose them, so the ones I want to cherish most have been worn much less often...
Besides rings, I also often wear earrings.
But since I can't see earrings myself without looking in a mirror, I personally felt they were more of an 'item to wear for others.'
In that respect, rings, like nail polish, are always in my line of sight and sparkling, so I think they are more of an 'item for myself.'
That's why I really want to use my favorite rings as much as possible, but... it can't be helped right now, can it?
...................................
In the midst of all this, there is a precious ring that has been shining on my right hand for a long, long time. It is
SIRISIRI, an accessory brand, and it is the KIRIKO RING.

It has a form that doesn't really look like a ring, doesn't it?
The material for this is actually glass.
Each one is made into a ring shape by a glass artisan!!!
...I suppose it might be hard to convey how amazing that is just by writing it down.
It is a considerable hurdle to continue making handmade items, which are said to have the virtue of 'each one being different,' at the same high level of quality. And with glass, which is a hot and squishy material, at that.
Moreover! That's not all.
As the name suggests, that glass ring is also carefully carved and processed one by one by a glass Kiriko artisan! Of course, without any sketches!!!
...................................
I think it was about 7 or 8 years ago that I first learned about this KIRIKO RING and SIRISIRI.
It started when I saw an article about it on a fashion magazine's web media site where I was working as a web director at the time.
I wondered if it was a brand by an overseas designer, but it turned out to be created by a Japanese woman!!!
There were many other wonderful designs besides this KIRIKO RING, so I couldn't decide, and I kept thinking, 'Someday... I want it someday!'
Finally! At last!
Last year, for my birthday, I bought it for myself!!!
A year and a half has passed since then. The beautiful glass ring, born from an incredible technique that leaves me speechless, and which I could stare at forever, is always sparkling on my hand.
For someone like me who has always loved crafts and glass, it is more than enough happiness.
On top of that, on days when I wear it, when I get home and wash my hands, I also gently wash this ring to keep it clean and fresh. Being able to wash and care for it without hesitation is a truly great thing about glass material.

Since they aren't colored stones, they blend in perfectly with any outfit, even kimonos!

For my second one, a RADEN ring
Later, as fate would have it, I also purchased a modern ring that utilizes mother-of-pearl inlay. However, this one is currently mostly resting at home...
I occasionally wear it in my room and gaze at it.
This RADEN series is even more unique than the KIRIKO, with each piece having different colors and nuances, making them one-of-a-kind items.
Moreover, when you wear it, it blends with your skin tone like a cream-colored pearl, shining very softly yet with a solid presence.
I also love this modern and organic shape.
Anna Clara is the name of the item, which is apparently the name of the designer's Brazilian friend.
Actually, it is modeled after the shape of her lips.
Please take a look at the items in the RADEN series.

What kind of brand is SIRISIRI?
SIRISIRI is a jewelry brand that releases contemporary works by combining unexpected materials with traditional craftsmanship. Designer Naho Okamoto started this brand in 2006.
There are various collections, and every one of them is very charming.
They aren't eccentric or flashy, but they have a definite presence, and they seem to have a magic that blends well with the wearer and makes them look attractive.
A sense of transparency, perhaps... I really love the presence of the SIRISIRI brand.
It is pure, graceful, calm, and also has softness and warmth... Perhaps I am so drawn to it because I myself aspire to be that kind of person.
Please visit the official website.
Also, the official website regularly updates its WEB MAGAZINE.
It features various content such as audio broadcasts and interviews.
Among them, this one was particularly impressive.
It is a wonderful conversation that shows Ms. Okamoto's journey.
By the way, although it is on another site, this conversation was also wonderful.
...................................
Also, an interview with Ms. Okamoto, who continues to study in Switzerland
Be sure to check out the interview with the artisan who works on the KIRIKO collection as well.

There are also seasonal pearl items!
Actually, for the past few years, they have been creating items using pearls harvested in Japan with Hobonichi every spring. The 2020 collection has already ended, but this special page is so beautiful, I want you to see it...!

SIRISIRI's directly managed store is in Akasaka, Tokyo
Finally, an introduction to the shop. It is a wonderful store with a beautiful interior.
Currently, it seems you can enjoy it more slowly and calmly if you make a reservation before visiting. By the way, there is also a marriage and engagement line. Of course, it is wonderful.
For those who find it a bit difficult to go out right now,
please enjoy it on the official page & online shop~
