A Self-Indulgent Book Review of "The Study of Preparation for Communication"
Finished reading "The Study of Preparation for Communication" by Ichiro Furutachi.
Since it was published by Hironobuto Co., Ltd., led by Yasunobu Tanaka, whom I have long supported and deeply respect, I picked it up with maximum expectations.
This time, I ordered it from the Hironobuto Co., Ltd. online shop. This is because if I go to a bookstore, the dam holding back my book-buying impulses will collapse, and I will be swallowed by a vortex of other books I want.
Well, the package arrived from Hironobuto Co., Ltd.,

and I opened it immediately.

One reason I bought it from the Hironobuto online shop was that I was drawn to the bonus supplementary reader.
First, I looked at the colophon. I don't usually do this. However, looking at it, I actually thought: I was drawn to this.

Wait, this is the "Kakuchika" team (the "Writing Power" classroom)!
My expectations grew even further. However, the content far exceeded them.
How should I put it? The words on the page are talking. I can hear a lecture delivered in that machine-gun style of talk that even Mr. Furutachi's own cannot match, unfolding on the paper. It is a unique, one-of-a-kind reading experience, as if I were listening to it on Audible.
Mr. Furutachi is giving a play-by-play of his own preparations for his commentary and MC work, as well as his journey so far, in that witty, familiar tone of his.
That is the only way to describe it.
That is why I raced through to the final chapter in no time.
I cannot quite summarize my post-reading feelings well, but there is no doubt that I felt a sense of relief.
I find a certain comfort in the fact that that signature Furutachi style is born from extraordinary preparation and the "sediment" that accumulates in the depths of the brain as a result.
Conversely, it also means that only by preparing to that extent can one truly become an original.
Behind the "expression" that is evaluated as original, there is a "sediment" many times larger than the part that is visible. The quality of the original is determined by how much preparation has been done to produce that sediment.
The importance of this preparation also connects to the content of "Just Write What You Want to Read" and the "Writing Power" classroom. It makes me feel determined all over again.
While there is a difference between 'writing' and 'speaking' in form, they share the commonality that output requires many times more input.
And I also thought that this is likely a mindset that Mr. Yasunobu always cherishes.
Knowing that Mr. Furutachi is forging ahead as a 'talker' with the same mindset, it must be the reason why this book was published by Hironobu & Co.
Even so, I am reminded once again of my own inadequacies.
I am not prepared enough.
Or rather, am I not just slacking off by saying 'this is no time to be preparing'?
But that is the current situation.
It is the reverse of 'when force prevails, reason retreats'; because I insist on reason, I cannot force things through.
I don't deny that it might be questionable to connect everything I read (though that's an exaggeration) to the stagnation of the Hyper Children's Center Place concept, but I couldn't help but get hung up on that.
Even if realization is far off, there must be preparations I can and should make now.
There is no need to rush, but I must not deceive myself and run away.
The words Mr. Furutachi wrote in the final chapter,'Life is a preparation for death',carry weight, but they are convincing.
That is precisely why I want to prepare thoroughly so that I can reach the end of a life that continues to live on in the hearts of many as a 'good guide'.
'Preparation is living the future'
I will engrave these words in my heart and continue to live tomorrow as well.
There was a talk show featuring Mr. Furutachi and Mr. Yasunobu to commemorate the publication. The venue was the familiar 'B&B Bookstore'.

I wanted to go. I wanted to get drunk on the live Furutachi style and fanboyishly get an autograph.
However, the date...
August 3rd... Saturday...
That day is...

One of my family's annual events, the Itabashi Fireworks Viewing Night Picnic day...
It's a complete overlap, of all things...
It can't be helped, I'll listen to the archive.
'Preparatory Studies for Communication' is one solution for a better way of 'living'.
I want to read it many times and let it sink in.
Nice orange!
