[Travel Diary] Traveling Around Japan by Car #64 Hokkaido Chapter 24: Central to Southern Hokkaido Area
⬇️This is the article for Day 63.
Monday, November 17, 2025, Abuta District, Hokkaido~
Good morning from Niseko Town, Abuta District, Hokkaido
🌧️⛄️🌥️
This time, I stayed at Roadside Station Niseko View Plaza.
Thank you very much🙇♂️

From the morning, it was raining and snowing heavily;
it's been a while since I encountered rain☔️
Because of that, I slept soundly in the morning😪
While enjoying the local gourmet food in each place,
today is mainly about traveling!
Takahashi Farm Niseko Milk Kobo
About 10 minutes by car from the roadside station,

the weather has recovered, andNiseko Annupuriis it?
The mountains of the ski resort are beautiful,
I can't help but take pictures of them!!

ThisTakahashi Farmis a place where you can enjoy various genres of gourmet food, such as a pizza shop, a restaurant, a chocolate cafe, and an ice cream shop, and it is also an open, scenic spot where you can enjoy the view like this!
The chocolate cafe and ice cream shop open at 10:00,
and the pizza shop and restaurant open at 11:00.
I arrived just at 11:00, so I visited happily thinking I'd start with the restaurant, but

to my surprise, I encountered a temporary closure here too.........
Isn't that a bit too much... lol
This just means I shouldn't be satisfied with coming here just once!
It means I should come back again and again.
Let's take it that way😇

So, at the Milk Kobo ice cream shop,
first, a cream puff!
The crust has a crunchy texture, and the moment I bit into it, the cream inside spilled out with great force.
I spilled so much of it! lol
No matter how many times I eat it, I can't seem to eat it neatly💦
Cream puff😇
The cream wasn't too heavy and it was delicious!
It was an exquisite dish packed with dedication!!

And, as expected, the ice cream here is a classic, right?
It's more like gelato than ice cream, I suppose.
I was able to choose two flavors, so I ordered milk and blueberry.
It really tastes like the raw ingredients themselves. So rich!
The blueberry seems to be homemade too, and the combination was absolutely perfect as well 😊
I finished off with a coffee to warm up, making for a great start to the day!!!
Niseko Yumoto Onsen Oyunuma
I stopped by on a whim!
This is a large swamp that also serves as the source for Niseko Yumoto Onsen.

With the whole area covered in snow, steam was billowing up!
At a glance, it looked like a scene from a boiling hell.

When I got a little closer, there was an incredible smell of sulfur.
This will really do a number on your nose...
Since I was bathed in this smoke all over, I was wrapped in the scent of sulfur for the rest of the day.
It was that intense!!
It seems the temperature is near 60°C even on the surface, and reaches nearly 80°C to 100°C in hotter spots. You absolutely must not touch it ⚠️
Machi no Chaya
After that, I moved to Rankoshi Town and enjoyed some Japanese food!
Actually, Rankoshi Town is apparently famous for its rice. I didn't even know that until I was told 🙇♂️
This place is a hidden gem I was told about by Haruryu! Thanks as always for the information ☺️

The moment I put it in my mouth, I naturally looked up to the heavens!
My spirit was ascending 😇
As for the pork miso soup, it was packed with ingredients and really warmed my soul!!!
In the end, this simple combination is the absolute best!
The compatibility is just too perfect 😭
They also had a full menu including pork bowls, curry rice, and soba, so this place is definitely worth visiting!
I definitely recommend it too!
It was so delicious that I bought some vacuum-packed rice balls as a souvenir 🍙
I'll enjoy them on the road 😋
I was told about such a great place!
Thank you very much 🙇♂️
And, thank you for the meal 😊✨️
Obana Cape
The westernmost point of Hokkaidois where Obana Cape! I was planning to stop by and take some photos, but it turns out it's impossible to reach by car...
Or rather, the road is so treacherous that it seems impossible to even get to the westernmost point.
I really wanted to see it since I was in the area, but it can't be helped. At Obana Cape, there is a long tunnel called the
Ota Tunnel, which is about 3,360m to 3,395m long, and it seems you have to walk for about 45 minutes one way just to get a look at it.

I think that's probably the point that sticks out the most, but
I'll just consider it a visit for myself 😇
That's all for today.
Record of Day 64
・ Amount spent: 3,140 yen
・ Distance traveled: 231.9 km
Well, tomorrow is finally the last day in Hokkaido 🔥🔥🔥
I want to make sure I burn the scenery of each place into my memory so I have no regrets!!!
See you in the next part on Day 65 👋
