Happy Writing Marathon #27: What is a moment recently where your heart felt, 'This is it!'?
I am participating in Ken Honda's Happy Writing Marathon.
Let's take on the challenge this week too! 💛
The true voice of 'the me who wanted to fail'
I feel like as we grow older, the moments that make our hearts tremble strongly become fewer.
Excitement and sincerity tend to get lost in 'composure' before we know it.
Where did that restless passion from our childhood, when we were little rascals, go?
But in everyday life, there are times when I suddenly hear a 'click' deep inside my heart.
'Oh. This looks interesting!'
I encountered such a moment.
💛 Even though it started with a light heart
I participated in Toyoko Shimotsuma's moderator course.
Honestly, at first, it was just a lighthearted decision.
'Is this what a speaking course is like?'
'It would be nice if I could learn to speak a little better.'
I opened the door with those expectations, but what I found inside was like a whole different world.
Fellow participants who were truly committed to each other.
An atmosphere where we gave feedback while burning with passion every time.
And above all, Toyoko's 'genuine energy'.
I was surprised.
And I was surprised to find myself feeling excited, even while being nervous.
💛 What I wanted to meet was not the 'capable' me, but the 'earnest' me
Until now, I was the type who could do everything smoothly and without difficulty.
I didn't want to fail.
I didn't want to be embarrassed.
So I did things within my 'capable range'.
Whether it was a lecture or a seminar, I could give a decent talk within the allotted time.
But even though I was praised by those around me, I didn't find it interesting myself! It wasn't enough!
But behind that predictable harmony, there was always a small voice.
'I want to give it my all'
'I want to try failing'
Since the moderator course started, for the first time, I met
'the me who couldn't do things as I wanted'.
Surrounded by people who are serious,
when I found a place where I could safely fail,
I felt like I gave myself 'permission' for the first time.
'Failure is welcome!'

💛 Before I knew it, 3 months had passed, leading to an unexpected turn of events
Before I knew it, the 3-month course ended in the blink of an eye.
From there, I found myself in an unexpected flow.
That was the moderator audition.
Once again, with 8 companions, we spent days of serious practice, just like a middle school club activity.
And that was also intensely fun!
And then, the unexpected acceptance.
And starting this December 10th, I will be participating as a moderator
in the very popular Clubhouse room 'Mimi-Biji' (Ear Business),
run by Toyoko Shimotsuma.
A future I never imagined has arrived right before my eyes.
💛 When you grasp 'This is it!', the world starts moving on its own
It is not an exaggeration; there is something I have felt.
When you dive into the moment your heart shouts 'This is it!',
the world takes you in a direction you never imagined.
Even if you don't know where you are going.
You don't have to be prepared.
You don't have to be confident.
It's not as cool as 'pick up weapons while you run!';
if you start running naked, someone will bring you pants! (laughs)
Just, for the moment your heart trembles,
even if it's small, try taking one step.
That one step
can completely change your future!

💛 Finally, what is happening to 'me' right now
Right now, I am still a beginner moderator.
I am a newcomer to 'Mimi-Biji' itself.
At 'Mimi-Biji', I need to interview authors and
engage in cross-talk involving the listeners.
Honestly, I'm shaking.
I'm sure I'll make many mistakes.
I'll be confused, feel down, and then get back up again.
But I think that's fine.
Because I have met
“a version of myself that can be truly passionate.”
I want to grow as a moderator!
I want to write my next book, too!
I want to spread the word about my new course, too!
There are so many things I want to do!
When I am among people who are seriously trying to grasp something,
I can feel my own small shell breaking away.
This feeling was my 'This is it!'

💛 Where is your 'This is it!'?
In daily life,
there may be few moments where you make big decisions.
But the 'signal' that makes your heart quietly tremble often arrives unexpectedly.
・A seminar or event that piques your interest a little
・Someone you are drawn to for some reason
・A feeling of 'I like this' the moment you see it
That small sign
might be the key that opens the door to your future.
If your heart has also
had a moment recently where 'This is it!' resonated,
please try to gently grasp that feeling.
You never know what kind of developments are waiting.
That is exactly why I think life is interesting.
