Lilac Cup: Haiku
I am so sorry for the long silence.
April has already reached its second half in the blink of an eye... and then, oh my!!!
The Lilac Cup deadline is almost here.
This is my first note in over a month, and I haven't even caught up with the announcements yet, but
it's the Rira Cup... please let me enter :):)
Peeling thin skins in the kitchen, a spring shawl
(Usukawa o mukuru kitchin haru shōru)
The amorous cat that rubbed against me leaves, drinking alone at night
(Suriyorishi koineko sarite dokushaku ya)
Drinking goji berry tea, an old woman peers into the mirror
(Kukocha nomi kagami o nozoku rōba ori)
These are the three haiku... and here are some extras I made while thinking about spring seasonal words.
Layering memories of my grandmother, the wisteria hangs
To Rira-san. I really had to write one for the host of the Lilac Cup. Hehe. I am truly sorry I couldn't help out this time. (Seasonal word: Wisteria)
May you bloom like a white lotus, you who are seventy-seven
To Bonradi-san. For the reason, please purchase the second volume of Umineko. Hehehe. (Seasonal word: Magnolia / White lotus)
A Jizo statue gazing at the swing, a journey of the heart
To Tateyama-san. When I think of swings, I think of you, Tateyama-san.
The image of gently letting one's heart fly is what I associate with you. (Kigo: Swing)
Blooming flowers on each other's cheeks, peach wine
To Katchi-san. Sharing drinks with a friend = it reminded me of your previous haiku post. Lol. If only I could drink alcohol too... Argh! (Kigo: Peach wine)
The withered stem harbors thoughts, a chrysanthemum seedling
This is for my grandmother. Her real name is 'Kiku' (Chrysanthemum).
And as her grandchild, I am 'Nae' (Seedling)... hehehe.
By the way, the goji berry tea haiku was a piece I wrote while thinking of my other grandmother. (Chrysanthemum seedling)
Shearing sheep in the early afternoon, marmalade
An early afternoon shearing sheep in the middle of vast, spreading green fields. Having marmalade and scones with tea
on a blanket on the grass, a peaceful English spring :) I absolutely wanted to write this for Marmalade-san using the kigo 'shearing sheep' :) Hehehe.
(Kigo: Shearing sheep)
So, I look forward to your consideration!!
